antiwork3000ParticipantHey guys. during the Jordan bulls years who usually brought the ball up? Was it Pippen?

DanEboyParticipantPippen was the point-forward. Jordan tried playing the point on both sides of the ball in the first year of their second three-peat, but admittedly had trouble keeping up with point guards on the defensive end.

antiwork3000ParticipantYa I was watching the 95 bulls knicks game on youtube but the never showed who brought it up. It was always just like fast pace all the time. If Pippen also brought the ball up then he did a lot of things for the bulls. On every made basket he was pressuring the inbounder and crazy too because every miss basket he was the safety defender standing at half court. Seriously Pippen types are hard to find these days

DipoTimeParticipant"Seriously Pippen types are hard to find these days"
I agree a million percent lol people seriously undervalue Scottie Pippen and everything he did for his team with and without MJ. I hate when people say stuff like who can be Pippen to his Jordan? I hear people throw that term around all the time like really? Nobody can be Jordan and idk anybody that can be Pippen either. The closest in the league to Pippen IMO is Iggy with how he can play point forward on offense and then lock down just about any wing player on defense. But even Iggy isn’t near as good all around as Pippen was. Trade Iggy to the Lakers and that will be the closest to an MJ-Pippen duo we will see and it’s still not as good.

omphalosParticipantI’m not sure if I’d be so quick to call Lebron a rich man’s Pippen. Lebron was stronger out of the gate but I still feel like Pippen in his prime remains equal if not better to Lebron’s current level.

Charlie SheenParticipantScottie Pippen was the truth he did so much and had one of the lowest usage rates of all time great players, score, rebound, pass, defend and shoot
Unlike LeBron he didn’t mind defering and I know LeBron is unselfish but there’s a difference, LeBron has the highest usage rate in the NBA, it seems he always has to be the guy to make the pass leading to the bucket or make the shot, not neccessarily a bad thing but not always a good thing

JoeWolf1Harper or Pippen, usually, Jordan did occasionally, but not a lot. Harper wasn’t a point and didn’t distribute like one, but handled a lot of the ball handling duties for the 2nd dynasty Bulls.

r377ParticipantPippen used to bring the ball down occasionally mainly later on.
Paxson and BJ Armstrong used to bring it down…

llperezIt went: pippen/whoever was the pg/ jordan. Although they were unique in that any of 3 guys could bring it down and start the offense.

Michael.S.ParticipantLeBron is better than Pippen ever was, LeBron in his rookie year is a better offensive player than a prime Pippen was. Pippen was incredible on the defensive end during his time, but he was the one of a kind back then, now there are a bunch of versatile long wing defenders in the game. He was never capable of being a go to guy on the offensive end and didn’t boost the game of his teammates on that end of the floor either. People can say LeBron is a Pippen type, but really, did Pippen ever average more ppg or was he ever in his wildest dreams the better player than Jordan? No.

billykParticipantPippen had the offenive capabilities to be a go to player, without Jordan he avg 22ppg 6 asst, 9 rebs, and 3 steals as the Bulls best player, the team also won 50+ games… He was actually and underrated playmaker at the point foward postion.. Me may never have averaged as many points as Jordan (who really can) but he was a franchise player IMO..
