DeAndre Jordan still has a way to go, but his haters (Quincey Hodges) are starting to get quieter and quieter each week.

He’s talking on defense and bringing intensity. He’s defending his own man well and the weakside… Blocking shots. He’s rebounding the ball. Running the floor. Dunking on All-Star big men…

I stand by my word that he can become a Tyson Chandler (this year’s version) type of center.

Haters?..its only called hating when you say something bad about a player that isn’t true. Its called being honest if what you said about the player was true( what did i say that wasn’t exactly??)

Just like when the knicks were bad and i’d say they were bad or this and that player wasn’t that good ( sergio the deer) and Knicks fans said i was a hater even though it was true

 

I noticed alot of people on here don’t seem to know the difference between the two

Personally i think he has gotten a tad bit better. His basketball IQ has improved but his footwork still needs alot of work. He’s below the leauge average for scoring and rebounding at his position for starting centers and in 10 more minutes he’s averaging 2 more points 2 more rebounds and almost one more block then he normally averages. He hasn’t improved at the rate the average big man improved but at least he has improved

I know the difference between being honest and hating. Hating is not wanting to acknowledge that a player has improved (which is what you were doing a month or so ago), when he has.

His numbers don’t tell the full story of just how much he’s improved from his first two seasons. He’s making his roations. He’s helping on the weakside and is showing that he’s a very good shot blocker. He’s running the floor harder and finishing better around the rim. He’s rebounding the ball. The biggest improvement I see is in his confidence level and communication out there on the floor. He’s always talking, especially on defense, and coaches love players like that. He doesn’t look like he’s lost out there anymore. He looks like he belongs and is bringing intensity. His motor is improved as well.

Of course he still needs to work on his footwork, low post moves and keeping the ball high.

This guy is really improving because of Blake Griffin.  Blake’s energy and work ethic are rubbing off onto Blake.

^Agreed, Griffin seems to have everybody’s energy and intensity improving, Jordan and Davis more notably. I like Jordan’s improvment, hes still young and has time to develop more post moves and his footwork but he is a great complement alongside Griffin and has provided the Clippers with a solid big man.

I think next season will be when Jordan really shows some improvement.

Griffin’s work ethic and training regime has rubbed off on him, which is just what the doctor ordered… He’s always had the talent/athleticism… He just didn’t work hard.

Odd the say, but this Clipper team looks like they can become contenders in years to come.  1 solid big man who can defend very well.  A franchise big man.  A shooting guard that can create his own shot as well as drive the ball in and hit spot up 3’s and is a solid defender.  A young PG in Eric Bledsoe that has showed he can play pretty well when starting.  All they need now is a good defensive small forward that can hit 3s to spread the floor.  Harrison Barnes seems to fit the bill with his 3pt shooting.

They’ll have a lottery pick this year and then Minnesota’s unprotected first round pick in 2012 and possibly a lottery pick of their own too if they don’t make the playoffs. They’ll have some money to spend via free-agency. And Griffin should be able to draw decent free-agents to LAC.

I just don’t see why this team can’t be good. I know it’s the Clippers and there’s the Sterling factor, but still… I mean, this team is in great shape.

I agree Tongue Out Like 23, Griffin has really rejuvenated this franchise, I do think they need a new owner who actually wants to win though but they already have a solid young core in Bledsoe, Gordon, Jordan and Griffin and also a young SF (Aminu)  who has also shown potential if only he could develop a solid perimeter game, if they could land Barnes, that would be ideal but with the way they’ve been playing do you really think that they could get him in the draft?

If they don’t get Harrison Barnes this year, they can get a pretty good pick with Minnesota’s 1st rounder in 2012.  And the 2012 class will be stacked with quality small forwards if some of the high school seniors decide to be one and dones.

Exactly i said he improved a lil bit. Thats still improving. He still gets dumb fouls though but not as much. I watch the games just liek everyone else. He’s still a fringe starter but regular starter on a bad team.

 

Clippers still have a ways to go. They are still a bad team just not as bad as Usual
