It’s funny how few people are talking up Jordan Hill, the second best big man prospect in the draft. Everyone looks at his thin frame but not enough at his strengths and his production. I could form a playoff team of skinny-bodied NBA players (Garnett, Durant, Prince, Randolph, Conley, etc) but whenever a skilled, long and skinny prospect comes on the scene people automatically start up with the dissing (Hill, Daye)

Hill’s motor/hustle is in the top 5 or 6 in this draft (Griffin, Lawson, Blair, Flynn, Paul Harris)

to clippers: You’re right of course, but most people consider the 2008 draft one of the top drafts in the last 15 years. I consider this an average, not a weak draft, and Hill is one of the reasons why.

Hill is a solid Power forward and will be a starter on the team that picks him.

And I think he very legit. His offense is pretty solid especially facing the basket where he can hit the 15 footer or go by his man. Wilcox never had the offensive touch either from the perimeter or around the basket that Hill displays

I like him a lot more than most people do. I think he would have possibly been a top 5 if not top ten pick had he come out last year with where his games at now. Don’t sleep on him.

Hill will be good because of his offensive rebounding and his mid range shot. I don’t think he will be a star, but a very good solid Pro.

hill will make a splash just with his athletisism and motor alone. think birdman with more offensive skills. definitely will get the crowd going.

He’s the second best big man prospect out of this draft. The difference between him and Griffin isn’t light years. I think Hills more than capable of being better than a “Birdman Type Player.” I don’t think the Chris Bosh comparison is ever going to happen, but I can see him being a better rebounding Al Thornton Type player in a few years. Maybe even the Aldridge comparison might give some justice to him. He’s a lot better than people really give him credit for and I’m glad people have no faith in him.

You would’nt take Hill before the 15th pick? I’m not a Zona fan by any means, but I watch all the Pac 10 basketball I can and I believe Hill is the best prospect coming out of the confrence this year. I would put him ahead of Harden, Derozan and all of them. Big men with his skill and athleticism are pretty unique. He has improved every year and his work in the off seasons with Amare Stoudemire is really showing. I would’nt want you as my GM if you don’t even think he should go in the top 15.

Well he is a legit 6-10, he can run the court well(he’s not a stiff), When he makes moves to the basket he can spin and explode and finish well. A lot of bigs just sort of back you down and throw one or two moves at you. Hill can adjust and make athletic moves around the basket similar to some perimter type players. Also, when he faces up all the way out to 18 feet, he can shoot it or go off the dribble. I’m not trying to sound like some crazy nuthugger, but his game reminds me in a lot of ways of maybe a slightly less powerful Amare Stoudemire. He can possibly become a go to type offensive player. Where he needs to improve is his strength and being a force around the basket defensively.

I think you could say that about MOST starting bigs in the NBA…. KG, Ryan Anderson, Lamar Odom, Zack Randolph, David Lee, Bosh well you get the point.. I think he has a good skill set but in the NBA as an EFFECTIVE starting power foward you should be able to do those things….

Hill won’t be a superstar, but I think he will develop into a higher scoring anderson varajao.

Billy how the Hell do you put Ryan Anderson in a Group of Garnett, Odom, Lee, Bosh, and Randolph. Seriously theirs not comparison between them unless your counting the fermunda cheese from What Could/What is Lamar Odoms career to Ryan Anderson.

I think Hill in his prime could be 20-10-2 guy. The only difference between Hill and Griffin is age and upside.

Tim Duncan is a 2 inches taller than hill. Other than that they play very much alike. the nice mid range jumper, the back to the basket moves, the nice passing. If he just gets a little smoother he might be a better player. He looks like he needs to work on his balance. He doesn’t look steady. Other than that he might be the next Timmy.

The 2010 Draft has A LOT more big men prospects that have potential than the 2009 one does. From my point of view, I have seen so many PF’s with his body type that came “out of nowhere” with improvement that I personally am not WOW’d by him. That being said, I have him going to the Raptors #9 at the latest as a replacement for Bosh (that would allow the Raptors to get the best available player in a trade, not a replacement player). I hope that your right “heatcheck 13” and he falls out of the Top 15.

“With the 16th pick of the 2009 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls select Jordan Hill from the University of Arizona.”

I high five the other draft junkees at the draft party! My friend who’s a Knicks fan is still pissed, just like the MSG faithful are every year by the Knicks drafting Stephen Curry (he doesn’t think that he’ll be any good for some reason) and the majority of us are doing a shimmy across the living room as our wives/girlfriends give us looks like, “God, stop acting like little boys!”

Every draft grade for the Bulls is an A- at the very least, and that’s because people might disagree with who they take at #26. God forbid what they do at #26 is considered a good move, A+ draft grade! Playoff experience for Hill and #26 next season!

Auber, I was just naming random players in my head and they all have the similar skill set as Jordan Hill that another poster was describing as Jordan Hill’s “unique skill set.” I inculded Anderson becasue when he was in college he had that similar skill set, personally I think Ryan Anderson is a better player than Jordan Hill… I think Jordan Hill is going to be a BUST….
