lalailaParticipantUnderrated as a freshman. Underrated in preseason. And still underrated now?
for me he looks like lottery pick pretty easily. Likely even top10 and first sg taken..
if he will keep playing like this he could finish with well over 20ppg with pretty nice all around game too.
thoughts?

JNixonParticipantHamilton has some serious talent offensively. He’s going to be a key contributor to an NBA team offensively.
He shows a VERY nice shot, a good 1st step off the dribble, he’s physically gifted at 6’7 210 as a swingman, and he’s aggressive. He also can play with or without the ball with near equal effectiveness. He also has shown a developing post game! Hamilton has gotten a bunch more polished since last year, and he’s gotten a better basketball mind too. He’s OK on D, but he has the tools to be better. I like him as a top 20 pick though.
I see him as a 19 ppg scorer at the end of the year. He’s arguably the best scorer in the Big 12, I don’t care if LaceDarius Dunn returns to action today or not.

JNixonParticipantBecause he’s really just a one-dimensional scorer. He doesn’t have any standout skills besides his scoring punch

in addition let’s say another one of just a few sg prospect Will Barton will become one&done guy, where do you rank him?

Demarcus OnealParticipantHamilton has improved greatly from last year but only on the offensive end, he can score 20 but will give up 20 he really needs to improve his defense to become a legit NBA prospect. His defense is so porous that Rick Barnes had to take him out last game during key defensive possesions. It does not makes sense why he is such a poor defender when he is strong, athletic and has great length & size

delfamParticipantsaw him live at MSG on Friday and he definetly can score, he also is a pretty good passer when he wants to be(not very often), made some nice passes. Also drives pretty decent but could improve. I see him going late lottery or just outside.
I compare him to Stephen Jackson, with upside to be better.

delfamParticipantthe thing is Texas needs him to shoot alot, no body on that team can score. Corey Joseph has looked horrible so far for some reason and Tristan Thompson has no right hand in the post and is so one-dimensional. Not sure what Joseph’s problem is but Hamilton has to shoot a lot for Texas to be successful.

jas225ParticipantHe reminds me of Donte Green in college so far after seeing a few games of him. I think he could be really good, he scores effortlessly. I would say he is a late 1st rounder now, but the season should only make his stock rise if he continues to play and score like he is.

hiphopismylifeParticipantIt’s tough on both ends of the debate. Hamilton has looked great and at the pace he is going he will be drafted much higher than originally thought, but it is also really early in the year and he will have to show that this is the player he has become, considering how inconsistent he was last year. I think he can be a top-10 pick at this pace. He has great size for an NBA wing and guys who can break a defense down off the bounce at that size are rare.

boxn1ParticipantGood talent, needs some seasoning. He can score, but he does take some horrible shots, now I do believe that is by design of the offense because of the lack of proven talent on the team returning. He will hopefully show more of his all around game as the freshman become more comfortable in their roles. And Balbay is starting for what reason???

ChewyParticipantHe single handedly destroyed my Illini in the first half. He was hitting threes, pull up jumpers and beasting the Illini guards down low. And Illinois is known for their great team defense.
This year he seems to be much more agressive and not settling for long jumpers. If he keeps this up he will certianly deserve more NBA talk.
