Tha_PrinceParticipantIn the game against Poland right now he’s got 24 points, 24 rebounds and 5 blocks with 2 minutes left in the 4th!

Tha_PrinceParticipantYa for a hustle type player to have a good FT shooting % is pretty promising. Here’s the boxscore for everyone

VarnishkisParticipantWatched the game, how much hustle Valanciunas puts into the game the stats doesn’t even show it… Poland were scared to go inside coz they knew Jonas was there to defence, every rebound every hustle play Jonas was there. This kid has got a bright future, can’t wait for semi-final game against USA tomorrow!

KDThunder35ParticipantI agree with you akhan 786, Cleveland made a HUGE mistake not taking this guy. They should have kept hickson at the 4 who was just coming along nicely and complimented him with Jonas at center. Leave Jonas overseas for a year or two and get a great draft pick this year (not like they won’t anyways) with all the Small forwards coming out this year with star potential.
I’m sold on Jonas because of the passion I heard this guy has. Punching the lockers and crying after a exhibition game is pretty passionate. I believe his drive is sincere and winning motivated. When you watch his youtube videos his motor is unreal, he sprints every single play. A 5 man who sprints the floor like that are very very hard to come by.
Imagine Cleveland got "lucky" again in the lottery and added Harrison Barnes with a top 2 pick. Clevelands lineup looks pretty nice with young talent. (This part is hypothetical)
1. Kyrie
2. Eyenga (I would rather them pick up a solid 2 guard in the coming years with Antwan Jamison off books) 15mil
3. Harrison Barnes ( or Quincy Miller, Mike Gilchrist)
4. J.J. Hickson
5. Jonas Valanciunas

Real Talk Real TrophiesParticipantagreed that he hustles harder than almost any player and to get that out of your 6’11 athletic center is a hard to come by. He would have also been a great fit in Minnesota. PG-Rubio SG-W. Johnson SF- Beasley PF- Love C-Jonas, but i still think they had to take D-will as hard to sell waiting at least a year for your #2 pick to come over.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantHeck not just cleveland made a big mistake.. so did minnesota. I might have even taken him 1st if the draft were right now. I don’t want to make unrational statements but I can’t believe how dominant this guy is.. I want to see him in the NBA so bad right now.

Tha_PrinceParticipantYa this tournament is giving me my much needed basketball fix since Summer League is a no go.
Jonas is that one guy in a pick up game that always somehow comes up with the ball or tips it to his teamate. The guys just pure hustle with athleticism mixed in. I watched the last half and he actually took a few jumpers, his form looked pretty good. Has potential in the future to hit 10-15 foot jumpers consistently.
He’s beasting this tournament though! He’s leading in points and rebounds. Dudes been going off

WizardofOzParticipantJonas, NOT Enes Kanter, will be the best C in this draft when it’s all said and done.

the I in winParticipantThe 6’6" Michal Michalak got 29 and managed to grab 13 rebounds in the same game so I’m less impressed but good game none the less. He won’t be playing against a bunch of short little kids in the nba.

delfamParticipantIf Cleveland took Jonas over Thompson, Barnes over Waiters, and then drafted McLemore this draft they would be loaded.
Irving, McLemore, Barnes, Zeller, Jonas

ProudGrandpaParticipantWell their second best player would only be Jonas Valanciunas or Barnes. So itd be w hile before they were “loaded”. But you’re right, itd be an impressive team.
