I know I might get a ton of backlash for what I’m about to say because a lot of people might be stat heads and scoring more = better player. I’m watching "Mike and Mike" right now and Ryen Russillo on as a guest host and he made contradicting points on why John Wall is not a top 3 point guard, which John Wall said that he was and I believe he is as well. He made the argument that John Wall/Wizards had no playoff success, he didn’t play well in the playoffs, he’s not efficient, and more stuff. He went on and said that he believe’s Kyle Lowry, Dame Lillard, CP3, Russell Westbrook, and Steph Curry are all better than Wall. If you believe each are better than Wall then it’s your opinion and I just disagree with it. This convo started when Wall talks that he don’t get enough exposure and that he’s a top 3 point guard.

I believe Russillo was very contradictory. I say that because he mentioned how Wall had no playoff success because he never made it out the second round of the playoffs so that’s why he’s not better than said point guards. Last time I remember Chris Paul, Dame Lillard, and Lowry never made it out the second round, Lowry never made it out the first round. Everyone with common knowledge and some hint of logic knows that if John Wall didn’t get hurt in the second round they would’ve beaten the Hawks. And to say that John Wall isn’t as good as them because of the lack of playoff success.

Also, if you go off of basic stats and just judge everything on metrics, then you might have a point on "John Wall didn’t play well in the playoffs". I just don’t base my arguments on stats, I believe stats are the most overrated and baseless thing you can bring to an argument. I like watching games to determine who is the better player, not looking up stats. John Wall literally dominated Lowry in the playoffs last year and he played outstanding vs the Hawks in the second round. 2 years ago he went against the 2 best defensive teams in the league and I believe he played fairly well.

I believe he’s been disrespect and not given the proper respect that he deserves in the league. He’s been consistent throughout the past 4 years in the league. He is about to be the 6th/7th player in league history to put up a 20/10 season and still get no reconition, he outplayed Steph Curry when they went head to head last meating, he plays both ends of the court, and he makes his teammates better constantly. No disrespect to Lowry, CP3 and Dame Lillard, but I believe John Wall is better than all 3 players and a player to the level of John Wall’s, he’s not getting the proper credit, I believe, he deserves.

I have always said that Curry and Westbrook are 1 and 2 and then the rest of the top 6 is Paul, Lowry, Wall and Dame in some order. You can always make the argument about which player is better between those 4 but I believe they are the next tier of PGs after the clear top 2 of Curry and Westbrook. To say that Wall is better than the other 3 is up for debate and will always be subjective since they are all so close.

Lastly just wanted to point out that Wall did not outplay Curry in their last matchup. Both played exceptional and it was a joy to watch them compete but Curry had 51 pts and hit 11 threes. Wall also had 41 pts and 10 assists so its not like Curry truly outplayed him either but considering Curry got the win my opinion is that he had the better night or you could call it a draw since the Warriors are a better team.

Yeah  if you want to off stats 41 points and 10 assst with only about 2 turnovers is better than 51 points and 3 assist with 7 turnovers. I’m not even going off of stats. Curry had a great first half, but Wall pretty much outplayed him after that, while in foul trouble. If you watched the game the Wizards had tons of chances to win, but a stupid play by Gortat and other players around him didn’t show up.

They lost by 15 yet you can point at one play as the reason they lost? Besides the fact that fine Warriors are a much better team then lets leave outcome aside.

Curry outplayed Wall in the first half when the game was still in questionand it mattered. Wall had a good second half but for the most part the game was well in control by the Warriors. Curry will never have as many assists as Wall since they have so many more playmakers(like Draymond who had a triple double there) unlike the Wizards which run their whole offence through him. I do agree Wall had an impressive game though. Curry and Wall that game may have been even and that’s a maybe I still believe Curry played better but thats besides the point. There is no way Wall is better than Curry.

Curry, Westbrook, Lowery are my top 3 this season. And Wall is an All Star just like them, however Curry, Westbrook are my top 2 really because they have been able to take their teams to the next level, as All Stars! The division finals or win a ring!!! As great as Paul is…after years of falling out in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs, Paul has been slipping down the list. You don’t have to win a ring, however that top of the line PG should be able to move their team to another level and Wall hasn’t done that ! Check out Lillard, putting up video game stats. But homeboy has put his team to that next level yet!

John wall is for sure not better than steph curry or russell westbrook and he’s not as good as chris paul either. Chris runs his teams better, plays plays better defense and shoots significantly better from all areas of the floor while committing less turnovers. So at the most wall is 4th. Then there’s Damian lillard who Is definantly more dangerous with his scoring ability so that to me pushes wall to 5th. The only one I’d put wall over in that group out right is lowry just because he exposed lowry last year in the playoffs

I definitely have Wall in my top 4, he’s behind Curry, Westbrook, and Paul. I wouldn’t pick any other point guard over him after the aforementioned three. He’s one of the best defensive point guards, one of the best passing point guards, one of the most athletic point guards, and one of the best point guards attacking the basket. He has the same weakness he has always had, shooting, but, he has also improved that. The stats also prove everything I just said.

Himself and Russell Westbrook could possibly join the 20-10 club this season (only been done by Isiah Thomas, Oscar Robertson, Kevin Johnson, Chris Paul, Magic Johnson, Tiny Archibald, and Tim Hardaway). He’s currently at 19.7 points, 9.8 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 0.8 blocks. Seriously, look at those numbers, rounded that 20 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block.

When it comes to point guards, he’s number 7 in scoring, number 6 in rebounding, number 3 in assists, number 6 in steals, number 1 in blocks, number 2 in double doubles, and tied for number 3 in triple doubles. He’s a player that does everything you want, he’s made it to the second round, and could have possibly beaten Atlanta last year, if he didn’t get injured.

He’s playing on a team where every player gets injured. Bradley Beal, Nene, Otto Porter, Gortat, Alan Anderson, Martell Webster, all have missed multiple games this year. He’s played injured the entire time.

If John Wall were still dancing, he would get more love. John Wall is just so low key. He doesn’t bring good or bad attention to himself, and his team isn’t a world beater like Golden State. He’s just a low key guy. That’s why he doesn’t get as much national attention, or recognition. I’m only taking 3 other point guards over him though, and because of his age I can make an argument for taking him over CP3 if I’m building a team.

Its crazy how people keep saying steph and rusd are better than wall. Steph team is stacked and last time I checked before they got iggy, & Lee got hurt goving draymond his time they were just pretty good. People are fascinated with steph’s 3 pt shooting but greens versatility is their key.
Remember when Russ missed around half a season, & kd carried the team they never dropped out of the top 5 in the playoff picture, but when kd was out and Russ was leading the team the thunder missed the playoffs completely.
John wall has dealt with injury after injury with brad beal & Nene. Plus after gortat, the rest of the team is average. Otto is playing better but he isn’t a consistent contributor for a playoff team yet.
Also didn’t the wiz beat a bulls team that was one of the best defensively in the league, plus the raptors. Yea lowry over wall my ass. Lowry has been bounced out the 1st round twice.

John Wall and Lillard should collaborate on a rap song.

     Call it, "Crybabyz".

I think he’s No. 3 behind Curry and Westbrook and I didn’t think Westbrook was good until last year. He just went crazy last year.

What drives me crazy are the idiots that claim that Kryie Irving is some top-10 player or better than Wall. Irving sucks. He’s a 1-on-1 player that thrives on a bad team with the ball in his hands. He’s a losing player. Simmons and House were talking about a fake John Wall for Kyrie Irving trade and Simmons claimed that LeBron wouldn’t do it. LeBron makes that deal in three seconds. Wall is so good in transition and finds guys. Him and LeBron would be lethal.

I would always put Chris Paul in that top group, but I think he’s slowing down.

I think the top 7 is

    1. Curry, 2. Westbrook, 3. Wall, 4. Lilliard, 5. CP3 6. Lowry, 7. Brandon Knight

It’s debatable, definitely debatable after the first two even though if it was me, I’d move Westbrook to the 2 so you’d get more shots for KD because he’s a better player. But that’s a whole OTHER story. I still would rank Westbrook number w 2 though. Personally I think Wall should shoot more. It’s nothing wrong with his willingness to pass and make plays for others, I just feel like his team would be better if he scored more; because he can score more.

He’s one of those players that you fear when he decides to take over a game with scoring because he’s that explosive and good off of the dribble. So if he wants to climb the ranks, he’s going to have to take over games more with his scoring to me.
