Russell0WestbrookParticipantI know alot of you guys in this site compare him to Rose but they play totally different games. The only thing they have in common is superior athletism and size for the point position. This guy is almost always out of control and doesn’t know how to run a half court offense. Rose is almost always under control and was a great player going fast or slow. He doesnt make his teammates around him better like Rose and Wall only know 1 speed and that is fast. Rose would make Cousins and Patterson look way better than wall could even imagine. I’m not saying this guy isnt a good player but his game is nowhere close to where rose was at the same stage. Rose had true point guard ability but wall is more of a scorer and pass 2nd. His game is more like Russell Westbrook than Derrick Rose with the potential to be great once he becomes a true point guard and thinks like a point guard

IndianaBasketballParticipantI agree 100%. I think that by the end of the season, he’ll be a completely different player though. A lot of people are saying they weren’t THAT impressed with his performance last night, but I was. He had some turnovers and was out of control at times, but I Iiked his swagger and confidence, plus he hit the shot that mattered. I liked that he didn’t think twice about getting the ball and taking that shot in the clutch. He’s going to get better as the season goes along. You can easily see that this kid is going to be a big time player.

Russell0WestbrookParticipanthe going to be good but he doesnt play like rose they only compare those 2 because of their size and athletism. rose is a pure point guard and this guy looks like he only knows how to play aau ball. Wall needs to learn to slow down sometimes.

quincey hodgesagreed should be a pretty good player but he has alllllot of work to do…not really so much skill but learn to play the half court game..i think once he gets that down (not reason he shouldnt) then his game will get much better

TONYDABOSS77Participantwall plays like wade to me. .

Meditated StatesParticipantI watched a lot of D Wade in college and his game reminds me of his. Great finisher who is a solid passer and gets his share of rebounds, lots of handle. Wade did not shoot lights out he just always messed with a triple D in college often. It is too early I don’t know if he will ever be as good as Wade, but thats who I see in his game too.

JNixonParticipantYea he’s very much like D Wade, more so than Rose. I think he has the ability to be a top PG in the NBA though, he’s a freak athlete and he has the size and frame to be an intimidating player.

Michael.S.ParticipantThis is the last time im commenting on any of this B.S.. This post is just pure hate…..Beanz…..ummmm How is he a shoot first PG that is not a pure PG? Tell me because I would really really like to know. Also tell me how you can say some other player was superior at that level(?) when Wall has played 1 game……and In that 1 game(his debut) he hit a gamewinner and played like a star. So the player he you say is superior to him……….did that or better in his 1st game?
I dont know what you guysa are thinking but it is definitely different from the way I see things.

butidonthavemoneyRose had 17, 6 and 5 in 25 minutes. He had more highlight plays than Wall.
Wall had 19, 2 and 5 in 38 minutes. He hit the game winner.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantthe funny thing is i said i didn’t think rose had learned how to play the point yet, and he could be a wade type player, but wall definitely has more of a scorers mentality at this moment. I don’t think neither is a true point guard at this time, but rose has more of a chance to be one, but they are both intriguing i guess we just have to watch and see.

Michael.S.Participantthank you butidonthavemoney, from looking at those #’s neither player looks “at a different level” than the other, in fact its pretty much a tossup.
Also how could you justify a statement like ” Rose would make Cousins and Patterson look way better than wall could even imagine”? Whoever is giving him pts is insane.
Beanz post and whoever agreed with him=Pure Haters

quincey hodgesi agree wit the comment before this mikemike..”how you can say some other player was superior at that level(?) when Wall has played 1 game”…just like you cant say hes gonna be a nba star or this or that good after one game against a nit team at best..goes both ways
0 - Posted on: Tue, 11/17/2009 - 5:42pm #230829
quincey hodgesrose was a better pg at the same stage hs and so far in college though manly because he didnt just play at one speed which is what wall did in hs and in scrimmages and in the one game so far……and if someone is considered hating for giving an negitive opinion about how they view wall after one game doe that make a person whos opinion is positive after viewing him after one game a d%&k rider?
0 - Posted on: Tue, 11/17/2009 - 5:42pm #230831
Michael.S.ParticipantNo but………………one is a personal opinion(mine) the other is a stupid, uneducated comment(him).
Clearly you guys don’t get it.

quincey hodgeslol..i agree as far as that rose would make those guys better comment…theres no way of knowing that..plus i dont recall rose making anyone person better at memphis but he did make the team better

Michael.S.Participant“and if someone is considered hating for giving an negitive opinion about how they view wall after one game doe that make a person whos opinion is positive after viewing him after one game a d%&k rider?”
Congrats. You just asked the best question of the day. Sadly for you the answer is N.O., that would be true if I actually did only base my opinion off this one game like you guys clearly are.Which is ignorant. I used this game just to show the people who were the haters/doubters that they were very wrong, as ive said since way before John Wall was even a wildcat he will be special. And you guys still doubting after the PROOF called last night is retarted.
peace.

quincey hodgesbut you cant use one game to prove youre point just as well as others cant it goes both ways like i said..and wall played good he didnt play great
0 - Posted on: Tue, 11/17/2009 - 6:33pm #230881
Michael.S.ParticipantOk now im getting annoyed
“you cant use one game to prove youre point ”
Let me spell it out for U
I- ——–H.A.V.E——S.A.I.D.——S.I.N.C.E.—–W.A.Y.——B.E.F.O.R.E—–T-H.I.S—–G.A.M.E
that John Wall will be special.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 11/18/2009 - 6:06am #230966
quincey hodgeswall COULD be special just like no one knows if he will be better then wall both things are future ifs ..nothing is for certain…and so far the best guard ive seen is willie warren
0 - Posted on: Wed, 11/18/2009 - 6:45am #230982

lalailaParticipantWarren is SG imo…just like Wade ‘Reke needs the ball in his hands..
why we can;t say this guy is the best PG in the class if he is stud i don’t care if he played college,nba,olympics..he can do little better or worse but i don;t see any suprises…he won’t be better than 20/5/6 but he won;t be worse than 15/4/5 which is still very good for freshmen playing in good team.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 11/18/2009 - 6:48am #230953

lalailaParticipantYES John Wall will be special, no discussion because there is no pain…D Rose is sophmore while Wall freshman in COLLEGE so if i will say that i see same(or even bigger potential from Wall) i could have some haters because he proves nothing but in the same way no one can say that Wall never be as good as Rose will.
2010 could be really good draft but i still don’t see how Wall could go not first.

quincey hodgesi like wareen at either spot…that 11 ast the first game was very very impressive and then the next he let it still b known he can score as well..im not gonna speculate to much on what wall is gonna be untill i see him play against good competition…once he proves against that then ill gladly jump on the bandwagon but im just not the type to do that till i see what a player can do against good comp..seen too many higschoolers come nto college cominate against sorry comp and then nut up against better comp
