For anyone watching the OKC-Memphis game, Joe Crawford may have had a big hand in deciding it. Durant was at the line shooting the second free throw that had a chance to tie the game. After receiveing the ball, Joe threw a fit about something at the scorer’s table. Now, Durant is an excellent free throw shooter, and should have made the shot anyway, but that totally disrupted the rythm.

Joey’s never been one to shy away from a show, but surely this one could have waited for a timeout.

What was he thinking? What was the reason for stopping KD at the free throw line to shoot his second and last free throw? That may or may not have cost the Thunder the game. He totally took out KD’s rhythm on that one hence the ‘counted’ 2nd attempt missed.

Joey Crawford is the worst NBA ref in my book.  Thinks it’s all about himself, not the players.  Watched him miss call after call in either game 1 or 2 of Bulls/Wizards.  Where’s the accountability of these terrible refs?  Who oversees these guys?  He doesn’t deserve a job.

He’s an 90% free throw shooter so I doubt it had little to do with it.. The Thunder just didn’t play well enought to win the game and KD didn’t have the type of game they need from him to win

I’m not disputing the fact that he should have made it anyway. It’s the league’s worst kept secret that he’s the MVP this year. Great players should make those plays. He struggled from the line tonight and one play does not define the outcome of the game.

I just fail to see how Crawford’s actions were necessary. While one play doesn’t decide a game, it was a pivotal moment. Sure, Memphis could’ve called a timeout to attempt to "ice" the shooter, but I feel Crawford’s actions were over the top and ridiculous. This is the same man who ejected Tim Duncan for laughing on the bench.

Crawford stopped play because the the number of team fouls was incorrect. The Thunder would of thought they still had a foul to give if Durant missed his free throw(which he did). If Crawford did not commit his actions he could of cost them the game in a different respect. Officials have stopped play before in order to adjust mistakes on the scoreboard; this shouldn’t be an issue for the league MVP.

I agree 100%. It was untimely but it was the right thing to do. It had to be done then just in case of a missed shot.

Because the Thunder didn’t even foul…  It was no point for him to do that at that moment… It’s the OKC bench responsiblity to keep up with team fouls and not follow the score board…  He picked the worst possible time to get that squared away…

I admit I was penciling in the thunder for multiple championships after they lost to the Heat. I really jumped the gun there.

I know this Is about Joey Crawford but I just had to say my piece on the Thunder.

just shows that when you get to the finals you have to grab it because there is no guarantee that you will return. They had 3 all-nba level players on their team the Harden leaves, Westbrook gets hurt and now they’re on the verge of losing to Memphis for a 2nd straight year. I didn’t see it coming

I’m not sure if he’s a bad official, but… does anybody else feels that when Joey Crawford is officiating an important game usually weird things happen?
