JoeWolf1Now with the lottery set, I’m ready to start doing some mocks. This is what I have for my first one, as always feel free to criticize, ask questions, give input or start any dialogue over my picks.

delfamParticipant– Don’t see why Minny would take Kanter, I don’t think he fits well with Love at all and them two defensively is a bad pick. I have either Williams or Jonas going there
– I don’t see how Washington would let Kawhi Leonard past them, they need some toughness and defense and he fits in perfectly alongside Wall and Young/Crawford

JoeWolf1-I’ve heard that Minny is not opposed to shopping this pick. I think Kanter would have more trade value, since he can play some center in a pretty center weak league. That is why I had him going to Minny.
-I almost put Leonard there, but I liked him as the 2nd coming of Prince in Detroit. You’re right, Washington may scoop him up, but after the Yi Jinlain experiment in Washington failed and him being a free agent this summer ( I doubt they’ll re-sign him) I though Vesley would help fill the role that they hoped Yi to fill. Energy, length and the ability to play multiple positions.

JoeWolf1Good call about Davis, I was really un familiar with him as a prospect until about a week ago on epsn so I didn’t have him on my big board. I figured if his name continuted to surface as a potential 1st rounder I’d add him later.

mikeyvthedonParticipantYou are a great poster, but I have to say there is little chance Derrick Williams makes it outside of the top 3 at this point. I just have a feeling that Kanter is much more likely to slip to Cleveland than Williams. Other than that, we will find out as things go on, but I adamantly believe at this point that Williams and Irving playing together is something that is not going to happen.

JoeWolf1Yeah, I year you mikeyvthedon, I’m usually more pragmatic with my opinions, mocks and posts, but I kind of stepped outside of that a little more than usual with this mock. I know there are some things that a little funky, but I usually do about 4 or 5 so I’ll trim the fat. I just thought it was an interesting proposition to put on the first one.

kphelpsParticipantI was surprised u had williams 4th at first but it makes sense. nothing is set in stone, the lottery took place YESTERDAY. a lot of time between now and the draft. if minnesota really likes kanter and the jazz are determined to take a PG then derrick williams will go 4. not that hard to see.

WinterSoldierParticipantHey lofty, Sorry I was dick the other day to you. BTW the Jazz are not that determined to get PG, they won’t pass on Derrick Williams.
