CavsFan07ParticipantHe made the right decision.
Hopefully his back problem doesn’t become persistent and he can have a long career in the NBA..
Anxious to see how he develops the next few years!

omphalosParticipantOK Celtics, let’s get top two and snag either Wiggins or Embiid. I’d rather Embiid, but would be happy with Wiggins.
Not sure if this was the right call for Embiid, would have been nice to see him develop his strength a bit more and get through a full season healthy, and also develop more consistency with his game, but he’ll do just fine in the NBA.

machu46ParticipantPhew. He was the one guy I was worried might stay another year. Hopefully Milwaukee can get that top pick so we can get Wiggins, but as long as we get one of Wiggins, Embiid, Exum, and Jabari, I’ll be happy.

TyroberParticipantTake that money!!!! I was terrified he would stay a year and have another season with back problems. Get the money while you can because I have only saw bad things happen when top 5 picks return to school.

JoeWolf1I think it’s the right decision. He can heal up, get in great shape, and be in #1 pick form by June. Cleveland took Bennett in a shoulder sling at #1, Pheonix took Alex Len in a walking boot at #5, and NO took Noel fresh off an ACL team at #6 last season. Joel’s back is a concern, but from what I’ve read it seems like a more minor injury than those three guys who were chosen high last year. I don’t think he falls past #3.

HaleParticipantHe made the right choice. If the back issues are legit next year would’ve been worse and he would’ve dropped. Not to mention if he didn’t improve significantly he’d be nitpicked to hell. Let him come out while his stock is up (Kansas sucked without him). Again the only real concern is his back and who knows how much stock teams will put into it.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI predict that Embiid will be medically red flagged, causing him to slip a bit but the celtics won’t care and select him with either the 5th or 6th pick.

Fun one partyParticipantJoel Embiid has huge potential to be a great NBA center. It will be a slow process but as long as he gets healthy and gets his body in basketball shape since he has not played in a game for a long time it will be fun to watch his devlopment in the NBA.The sky is the limit for Joel Embiid he has a very bright future.Big men are hard to find.

Magic JordanParticipantNewest word is that the information was leaked early. Embiid tweeted a confused "huh? Haven’t made a final decision".
Could he really be wavering that much? And could it really be that hard of a decision especially with the back issues?
