joecheck88ParticipantI didn’t get much feedback last time. Made a few changes to it. Could be a little ambitious on my part but I like it overall. What do you guys think? View on side or view with comments with link below.

Toronto16ParticipantWell the draft DOES always have some very surprising moves. This mock certainly was bold.

TheTruth86ParticipantI like Saric going 15th, Early picked by OKC and Bachynski getting drafted, but pretty much that’s it. Gordon going 5th over Vonleh and Randle is highly unlikely, CJ Wilcox is too high plus Memphis need a SF, Dwight Powell in the first round – don’t think so, TJ Warren and PJ Hairston dropping into the 2nd rd – impossilbe, at least for TJ, Khem Birch and Isaiah Austin should be late 2nd to undrafted, imo. Semaj Christon is borderline 1st rounder, same with DeAndre Daniels and Jerami Grant.

OhCanada-ParticipantI understand having one or two players slip in a draft but you have tons of players slipping well out of their projected draft spot.
You have Appling ahead of Christon, Hairston falling to 40, Adams 45, Warren at 33, and Anderson at 27. Then you have Wilcox at 22 and Powell at 26 which isnt that bad but definitely something I dont expect to happen.
You have Toronto selecting 3 Canadians. Makes sense but I dont think they go all out on Canadians even though the value is there and it matches team needs.

FutureNBAGMParticipantWith Randle AND Vonleh available, I just don’t see Utah passing them #5 for Gordon.

joecheck88ParticipantUtah is tough for me as they don’t really need any of the guys available at 5 without reaching. Think Randle is more likely than Vonleh if they make the pick but of Gordon is knocking down 3s at a nice clip in workouts I think he could rise. He’s been rumored at 6 for sometime so it’s only 1 spot up. Idk just hard to figure Utah at 5 and I’m not enamoured with Vonleh.

ZachAttackParticipantI agree with you on that one, they need a good 2 or 3 and all of those are in the top 4.

Captain LParticipantAs a Jazz fan I like Gordon at 5, he is very versatile and gives the Jazz something they need , he can defend multiple positions and his handles are good enough to allow him to play some 3, his potential is very enticing . Although Vonleh and Randle may be rated higher , I don’t see that they fit quite as well. Vonleh could be used as a stretch 4 which would work but we need more of a 3/4 than a 4/5 even if he can stretch the floor with his shooting. Kanter is supposed to be working on his 3 point shot and hopes to use it this coming season, which makes Vonleh less of a need. Gordon’s athleticism and intangibles and potential are what I like.

joecheck88ParticipantIs there a place to read about individual workouts and such? I only come here so this is my scope.
I didn’t think it was super bold. Just a few guys jumping up a few spots and some guys sliding a few(3-5 spots). Think a bevy of International guys push some guys to the second. Don’t think Anderson late first is crazy nor do I think Powell late first is. Think my biggest drop is Warren to second. Hairston has character concerns and isn’t a 1st round lock.

tidhoParticipantYour guess is as good as any.
You do have a lot of guys slipping, but if TJ Warren is the Cavaliers 2nd rounder then I’m not complaining.
Beyond the Cavaliers, I think Capela to the the Clippers is an interesting choice. I wouldn’t expect them to pass on a wing (maybe Warren) in this scenario. The Suns add three guys in the first that I think will need to play PF and they already have the Morris’. I’d expect that to be switched up a little.

arjundhanoaParticipantGordon could surprise, I’ve also heard a lot about him at 6, and I don’t know how enamoured people are with Vonleh and Randle. Both are the safer picks, whereas Gordon has the upside.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he went earlier than expected.
I agree though that you definitely used your creative license. But then again, who isn’t surprised by how the draft actually unfolds?0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/11/2014 - 9:43am #917466

orangeshadow83ParticipantI think you have grant too low. There is no way he drops out of the first.
If he develops some sort of jump shot he could be a star. Athletic freak, hustle player, good rebounder, and can finish well around the rim.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the lottery, but I think he will go in the15-20 range. I could see the Bulls taking him as a project to replace deng.
He might take a couple years but if he develops a jump shot he will be a good player.

joecheck88ParticipantI may have him low but I’m not positive he’s a first round lock. A team could take a chance but as of now he doesn’t do anything great other than hustle. Think he may be Corey Brewer at best. He doesn’t look comfortable with the ball to me and doesn’t look like he will ever be a great shooter. Then he’s real thin for the PF spot. I’m just not a fan.

joecheck88ParticipantMan watching him workout he shoots almost identical to Shane Battier. I think he plays a similar role too. Not the Shane Battier role now but the one Shane played in his prime. An elite wing stopper that can knock down the J but Gordon will be a lob target and a threat on the break. I think he’s more or a sure thing than Vonleh and Randle seems like a safe pick. Randle is the surest 15ppg scorer of the bunch but Gordon will be an elite defender I think.
