JoeWolf1I think there are going to be some trades at the top this year so I have the top 3 ranked in opinion as BPA because I don’t feel team needs (in picks 2 &3) will be an issue with all the trade rumors going on right now.
I know I’ll get some crap (especially from Knick fans) at #17, but I have a source (pulled from espn’s insider)
PDATE No. 2: Add Duke’s Nolan Smith to the list here as well.
"The Knicks are showing a lot of interest in Smith and have scheduled an interview," wrote Mary Schmitt Boyer of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
UPDATE: The New York Post also includes Boston College’s Reggie Jackson as a possible point guard target with the No. 17 selection.
—As we noted Tuesday, the Knicks are keeping an eye on Hofstra’s Charles Jenkins as the draft nears to potentially play point guard for them.
But with the Cavs landing the No. 1 pick in Tuesday night’s draft lottery and being likely to select Kyrie Irving, there’s now the suggestion the Knicks could look to trade for Cleveland PG Ramon Sessions.
And now, in ESPN’s Chad Ford latest mock draft, he has the Knicks selecting Kansas’ Josh Selby with their No. 17 pick, commentary of which we’ve noted below.
With a few options presenting themselves here, it’s all even more reason why current Knicks PG Chauncey Billups may continue to get listed as a trade chip for the team during this summer and into next season.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantI feel like there has been a bunch of articles out saying that the Knicks are interested in so many players like Nolan Smith, Charles Jenkins, Kenneth Faried, Josh Selby, and Jimmer. There have probably been more out that I have not seen. Your right though I will be pissed if the Knicks draft Nolan Smith with guys like Faried, Selby, and Klay Thompson still on the board. If they do decide to go with a PG though Nolan Smith would be the the 4th PG on my list behind Darius Morris, Charles Jenkins, Jimmer, and Reggie Jackson. I might even throw Mack in there too. Not including Irving, Knight, and Kemba. Obviously they have no chance at falling to 17.

Scottoant93ParticipantI think its interesting you had cleveland taking leonard at number 4, but I actually like it ALOT, they will get a pg and sf they need

gatorheelsParticipantGood Mock
I don’t think LaceDarius Dunn or Diebler get drafted.
Jeremy Tyler, Klay Thompson, & Singleton will all probably go a little higher.
Tobias Harris is going to go in the top 15.

SwatLakeCityParticipant- Houston Pick. Why would the Rockets draft Motie? He is a soft, flopper, who doesn’t even try hard. Every year the Rockets go with the safe pick, the sure pick, the pick that fits their team the best. Motiejunas is completely the opposite of that.
- Nolan Smith is way too high. He is for sure second rounder, maybe a borderline first rounder but not a mid first rounder. Josh Selby definitely makes a lot more sense. Precious Neophyte is right. The Knicks are interested in a lot of people at 17. They will have a lot of workouts but so are other teams. That doesn’t necessarily mean that that player will be the Knicks pick. If anything the Knicks pick is uncertain, with the wide interest of players that the Knicks are interested in.
- Tobias Harris is definitely going in the mid first round, he could even be a lottery pick. He had an outstanding freshman season and he was the only consistant player for an inconsistent team. That will not be overlooked.
- Marshon Brooks is a little high. I have always seen him in the late first round sometimes as a 2nd rounder but never as a top 20 pick.
- Liggins is also pretty high. He can play good defense and is a good player but is definitely a late second round pick, not an early second round pick.

Memphis MadnessParticipantNot sure why the Bulls would pick Darius Morris with one of their draft picks, unless they plan on trading that pick.
I think the Knicks would be smart to trade for Ramon Sessions. He has had some great games. If they get him then they can look elsewhere with the 17th pick.
I like Kawhi Leonard at 4 if the Cavs take Irving with the 1st pick. I think teams win with great wing players and versatile fours. Crazy how everyone is trying to get the next great point guard and center while the Heat are starting Mike Bibby and Joel Anthony at those positions. … the two most athletic and raw-talented point guards left (Rose and Westbrook) are both down 2-1. Right now the team’s with the best player(s) are winning. Dirk (with Kidd’s help) over KD or Westbrook. LeBron and Wade (with a lot of help from Bosh and Udonis Haslem) over Rose. … so the Cavs need to just pick the best player available at number 1 and then get a good match (out of the best players available) with the fourth pick. Based on actual college production and winning in college, combined with potential upside and current athletic ability I think the Cavs should go with Derrick Williams at 1 and Kemba Walker at 4. Walker is a fiery leader and a winner who did it all last year at U Conn. I am wondering if Williams and Leonard could play together. If they could then that would be a nice combo on the wings. Plus they would be great targets for Baron Davis’ lobs. Then they could add another point guard and a big man in the second round. The Cavs would still have Ramon Sessions and if he begins to figure it out and really starts to put things together then he can be a top 10 to 15 point guard. Maybe they could get DeAndre Liggins to be a backup 3 point shooter/defender and part time ball handler (a younger version of an older Ron Harper). Then the best big man available. Perhaps Keith Benson if he is still there. Wouldn’t be a very conventional team but it would be very long, athletic, and versatile with Williams, Leonard, Hickson, Liggins, Benson, Ryan Hollins, Eyenga, and Sessions with Baron Davis being the ring leader, Sideshow Andy and Luke Harangody being the enforcers and Anthony Parker & Boobie Gibson being the veteran glue guys who can hit the three.
That would be a fun team to watch with some of everything. Williams would be the first option, then Hickson and Leonard would be the second and third options. They could play Baron Davis 30 minutes a night with Sessions playing the rest of the minutes. Andy, Benson, and Hollins is a promising 3 center rotation.
Next year, they can then add another piece in a deeper draft.

JoeWolf1A lot of talk about Harris going high, I had him in the low 20’s because of his low measurements. He’s under 6’7” and despite a decent wingspan, but only has a 8’7” standing reach which is pretty low for a power forward, which he plays more like right now. I realize he had some upside, but I wasn’t aware teams were that high on him right now.
C.J. Watson is Derrick Rose’s backup right now and he is primarily a scorer who plays good D and only signed for 2 more years. I don’t feel position, especially when drafting a younger guy who may not be super NBA ready, would effect them taking a talented young point who has good passing ability and point guard insticts. By the end of a 3 year rookie contract, a guy like Darius Morris could be a great backup to Derrick Rose.

MagikKnickParticipantIll me mad as hell if the Knicks pick Smith, Jackson, or Jenkins at 17…i bet we’ll end up doing some crap like that too -_-
Anywho, nice mock overall I think Marcus is a reach at 9, Kawhi is good, but i dont think he’ll go 4…
Like the fact that you have Isaiah Thomas drafted, if he was 6’1”, he’d be a first-rounder imo

JoeWolf1Jordan and Charlotte draft college players in the lottery and in particular, ones from high profile programs. I agree it is a bit of a reach and don’t have Marcus rated as the 9th best player in the draft, but my thought was just going by history.
Henderson – Duke, Augustine – Texas, Wright, Felton, May – UNC, Okafor – UConn, Morrison – NCAA’s leading scorer
That was just my thought process on that #9 pick.

FritzParticipantI agree with you that Marcus is a good fit for the Bobcats, and I want them to draft a big such as him or Markieff but where I am different from you is I dont think they would take either of them over Jonas Valanciunas.
I dont think they will draft Marcus because they have a tendency to draft players from high profile programs, you forget that Charlotte passed up on Darrell Arthur, another player from Kansas, in order to draft Alexis Ajinca from France.
I do not think Marcus is a reach at 9 in this weak draft, but I feel Jonas Valanciunas plays a more needed position for the Bobcats and so far according to consenses is a better prospect.
