jaysmith1987ParticipantI always thought this guy reminded me of a michael redd type of guy but milwaukee gave up on him rather early if it was in the 90’s were teams ran screens for there best player to run off and hit from downtown this dude would be making more of an impact. The era we are in know players are more for the dribble drive less for running screens hes a player maybe a decade to late one of games better shooters.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think he will do alright but I hope he does not wind up like Flip Murray. Also he is probably Philly’s best shooter outside of Kapono who can not get any minutes. Does anybody know what is wrong with Kapono. They should just trade him or something.

JJeff6ParticipantI think hes in Doug Collins doghouse. He wouldnt really bring back much value. Send him to chicago, they need another 3pt shooting threat.
and dammit love didnt get the 20 20. prolly cuz he sat out the entire 4th. so 28 and 19 in 31 minutes aint too shabby

Mr. 19134ParticipantI’m really happy for Meeks this guy is a gun slinger. I was excited when we traded for him last year remembering his 54 point performance and also his shocking combine numbers, then was a little upset when i saw all the people still on the board notably Lance Stephenson then the Sixers would of had a shot to draft but had faith Meeks would be better anyway.
When the Sixers traded Willie Green I knew they had faith in Meeks also and he could possibly break out at some point this year.
First off Meeks is nothing like Redd because Meeks is athletic. At the combine his numbers were virtually the same to Rodney Carney or Eric Gordon. Meeks also got a long wing span to boot so guarding 2 guards will never be a problem. Last night was a perfect example of Meeks speed after watching him curl off screen and just basically turning into a blur of speed before stopping at the 3 point line for a catch and shoot.
I am really excited about Meeks future and think he can become a helluva player. He also plays great man on man defense because of his length and foot speed. My comparison for Meeks would be a poors man Eric Gordon or Cuttino Mobley.

WizardofOzParticipantI think the Sixers should trade Lou Williams. Meeks and Williams are basically the same player and with becomes starting to come one, that makes Lou expendable.

JJeff6ParticipantAnd Lou’s minutes and production have fallen off since last year. Maybe send him to Indiana for Dunleavy and a future second round pick.

sheltwon3ParticipantRedd before knee injuries was fairly athletic. He came into the league as a slasher and finisher and not a 3 point shooter. He and Scoonie Penn were a beast combo in college. He must has learned from Ray Allen because after a few seasons he made Ray tradeable since they were so similiar as shooters.

JNixonParticipantJodie Meeks is finally playing good. I have always liked him and thought people undersold his athleticism and defensive ability. He plays solid D IMO, and always has (I have followed him somewhat loosely since I watched him play at Norcross High), and he has decent quickness and athleticism. Around draft time and stuff people questioned his athleticism, and while he’s not a great "game situation" athlete, more so offensively due to his handles being somewhat limited and slowing him down, it’s not something that would make or break him as a player. Good to see him have a strong game, he has a developed arsenal offensively and a very NBA-ready body for a 2nd year player.
