UC1000ParticipantHow is that guy not involved in lottery discussion this year? The guy is averaging over 24 points in a major conference, not just a set-shooter, has good height for his position, and is a NBA athlete. Look at him in comparison with Stephen Curry or Jeff Teague and you automatically know how is the better player. I see him as a more versatile Ben/Eric Gordon.

sb13ParticipantJodie is a 6’4 off gaurd who has a .57 A/T ratio, which is beyond horrible! execpt for that, i totally agree with you, he is flying under the radar. however, lottery might be stretching it for him. however, in this week draft can be very possible. I just dont understand why he isn’t in the top 60 prospects on the draft board. makes no sense to me what so ever.

Bballfan123ParticipantNBA draft has him going 45th in 2010, which is still crazy. Has more size and athletic ability than Curry, and he will be able to play something resembling defence in the league. Curry is to small and unathletic, he will be a defensive liability in the league and meeks wouldnt be. If he goes in the second round all the GM’s that let him slide should be fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

don042488ParticipantJodie Meeks is different from Ben Gordon and Eric Gordon because he’s not as quick as them or athletic, but he is taller at 6’4 and is a better defender. I compare Jodie Meeks to one of the most unappreciated “Bad Boy”, Joe Dumars.

jorrye24His role in the NBA will be instant offense of the bench. He just needs to improve as a ball handler and he will be a good “microwave” player

shaq2355ParticipantLottery for Jodie Meeks?? Is this a serious statement. You have to look at how he translates to the nba…He is undersized for the shooting gaurd position, his athletic ability is definately below average for an nba shooting gaurd, and also he does not play very good defense. I live in KY and have watched him since he was a frreshman almost every game. He has skills and is a great college player but translates to the NBA like Hansbrough…A quality guy off the bench…He is worth a 2nd round pick, thats it.

los507ParticipantI agree that lottery is a bit high but,he will be a guy that GM’s should consider picking with low first round picks or high second round picks. Shooting is at a premium in the league and he can do that pretty well but he is a volume shooter. But a bench role would be perfect for him. He could be a poor man’s Andrew Toney or Dumars as previously stated by Don. Could be a good 6th man.

LvilleHoops09ParticipantMeeks can shoot lights out no question, however he is not particularly great at creating his own shot off the dribble. Coming off screens is his shot style. He isnt a terrifically skilled passer and is also on a team with inexperience at the guard spot and no other significant long ball threats. if he goes pro this year Late 1st at best to mid 2nd. Biggest concern for me is his ability to guard 6’6″ 6’7″ 2 guards in the NBA and consistency from 23’9″

J2daPParticipantI also remember a guy from college that was a great shooter but not very athletic. Couldn’t guard anybody but could drain from all over. His name is Ray Allen. They are basically the same player. If you use Jodie Meeks the right way he can be just as dominant as Ray Allen in the NBA.

deuce4offRay Allen not athletic coming into the NBA?? Please don’t ever compare Jodie Meeks to Ray Allen…. Go watch him early in his career, in the dunk contest, and tell me he wasn’t athletic. I see Jodie Meeks as a Tony Allen type player, just a lot better shooter and a little less of a defensive presence.

LvilleHoops09ParticipantRay Allen is 459259684023 times better than Jodie MFing Meeks. Ray Allen not athletic? have you seen that mamajamas calf muscles? Next to reggie Miller he is arguably the best 3 point shooter of all time. UK smells like NIT to me…Ray allen didnt lead a funky azz SEC team to the NIT he led his team to two sweet 16s and an elite 8.
