nyk92ParticipantDo you really think Vesely will fall that much? It seemed to be a lock that the Wizards were going to take him if Kanter is not ther.e

BloodyCrumpetParticipantVucevic is the lottery is certainly bold.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 12:12pm #546352

JNixonParticipantI personally think Vesely should go to Washington, but some there are rumblings Leonard is going to go there. I’ll wait and see though, I’ll wait to get word later.

JNixonParticipant"Vucevic is the lottery is certainly bold."
Not bold if your C’s are Chuck Hayes and Hasheem Thabeet, and your 3rd C is a raw PF named Jordan Hill.

What The DevilParticipantAgreed with BloodyCrumpet…wouldn’t Vucevic be there for their second first round pick?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 12:15pm #546358

JNixonParticipantThe farthest I see him dropping is 16th to Philadelphia.

YSUFan10Participanti really respect your opinions regarding this years draft, but you really think Honeycutt will fall to 38 or whatever it was? No way he slips out of the first round. I would also say you have Singler a little low and Norris Cole too. i say Cole goes anywhere from 28-35. I really don’t think that Vucevic will be a lotery pick either. And to be 100% honest i would take Diante Garrett over Nolan Smith if i’am the Bucks. But Smith will probably be gone before the 40th pick, so it doesn’t matter.

I think there is a very legit chance Honeycutt falls out of the 1st round. He’s not a lock by any stretch to get picked in the 1st.
Singler and Cole both have ranges from the early 2nd to the mid-2nd. Where they land is certainly a matter of who decides to pick them, they aren’t locked in the 1st or anywhere in the 2nd to my knowledge. I don’t think it’s out of the question for them to get picked in the 40’s. Both have questions regarding them.
Nolan Smith will be a better pro than Garrett. I’ve probably watched Garrett more than any person on this forum and I like his game. Still, if Milwaukee has to choose between Smith and him, I’m sure they would go with Smith considering his pedigree and the fact that they are the same age and Smith’s resume is clearly better.

WinterSoldierParticipantI don’t think Jazz will take Knight there the only team in the top ten with a All-Star PG it makes no sense for them to take him.

What The DevilParticipantEh…I just feel Houston could get better value for that pick. Maybe get Chris Singleton and then get Jeremy Tyler at 24. But I see your point about Philly getting Vucevic. Hawes is a FA this year right?
Edit– ty Proudgrandpa..I do my best

You think Toronto has given up on Bayless? Or would they play they together at times with DeRozan at SF?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 12:41pm #546371

JNixonParticipantI don’t think they’ve given up on Bayless, but I do think that they will try and hand Walker the keys to the offense. Bayless will be able to play with Derozan though I’d assume, probably in a role as a backup though on and off the ball.

bksmithParticipantDevis Harris is not the long term solution at teh PG spot. He will be gone in 2 or 3 years and that is when the rest of the young players that the Jazz have/will aquire are going to start to come into their own. Drafting a PG makes perfect sense since that is the hardest positon to transition to on a team.

JimmeredYaWabafetParticipantThis dude is the truth!!0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 12:58pm #546378
WinterSoldierParticipantWe will most likely have a lottery pick next maybe a couple of them and the PG’s next year are better quaility more natural PG’s. I don’t believe Knight is a solution but like any sports fan I want what I think is best for my team to win and I don’t think Knight is that. I don’t care if I get a hundred neg. points I only care that the Jazz do the right thing.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:16pm #546389

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantSo either Bayless or Walker will end up coming off the bench and providing instant offense. That’s kind of where you’re going with that pick right?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:19pm #546390

gatorheelsParticipantTrey Thompkins 16th? NO . Move him to the 2nd round.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:28pm #546392

JNixonParticipantPhilly likes him though….
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:29pm #546393

JNixonParticipantI think the Raptors will let Walker be their starting PG. For better or worse.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:32pm #546395

gatorheelsParticipantThompkins might be available at the 50th pick. No way he goes 16th.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:38pm #546401

WizardofOzParticipantBTW, Jorrye, when are you releasing your writeups of the #4 & #3 prospects? I’m really excited about what you have to say about them
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:40pm #546403

JNixonParticipant"Thompkins might be available at the 50th pick. No way he goes 16th."
50?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:40pm #546398

WizardofOzParticipantI don’t think the Wizards pass on Vesely if he’s there. I can’t find the quote, but Flip Saunders said something about drafting a "competitive, defensive-minded player, and a guy that can run with Wall." Leonard fits that criteria, but Jan fits that criteria even more. And there have been multiple rumors about the Wizards liking him. I even read on a Wizards forum, that one of the forum users talked to Wes Unseld Jr. (Wizards asst. coach) recently, and he said that they like Vesely.
I’m not the biggest Vesely fan, but as a Wizards fan, if Kanter isn’t available at #6, I would be fine with Vesely, and I definitely like him more thann Leonard, even though the Wiz have shown interest in Leonard as well.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:41pm #546405

JNixonParticipantI’m definitely releasing 3&4 tomorrow. I might release 2&1 at the same time too, but 3&$ will definitely be tomorrow. I’m too lazy to do them today. lol

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantGreat to see a different mock. Quite refreshing.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 2:34pm #546422

llperezYou’re sleeping way to hard on Honeycutt. If I’m a gm, I’m taking him over klay Thompson.

Lotto StudParticipant"You’re sleeping way to hard on Honeycutt. If I’m a gm, I’m taking him over klay Thompson."
Coming from a Pac-10 guy is Klay getting too much praise over Honeycutt by everyone?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 2:45pm #546428

llperez@Memphis tyga, IMO yes. I’ve been high on Honeycutt for a while. I’m sure some of that is being a bruin fan. But klay is not a better pro prospect in my book. Tyler showed signs of becoming a very good shooter his sophomore year And can stuff a stat sheet in all categories and is a better defender and athlete then klay. Klays numbers always dropped in PAC 10 play because of guys like Tyler d’ng him up. Mark my words, Tyler will be the better pro within a year or two.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 2:52pm #546432

MagikKnickParticipantI agree, in the NBA I dont see Klay being more than a great shooter off the bench ala Kyle Korver, Marco Bellineli
While Honeycutt has Tayshaun Prince ability, a good utility guy that can do a little bit of everything
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 2:56pm #546435

BKKnicksfanParticipantHonestly, I don’t see one problem with this mock.
I love the Vucevic pick, mainly because I was in the same mindframe with him and Houston.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/17/2011 - 3:40pm #546455

JNixonParticipantI honestly don’t argue at all that Honeycutt is better than Thompson. But this is a mock draft, it’s not a draft board.
