They are EERILY similar, but he’s not the playmaker Curry is..That’s the only difference. Curry didn’t show his playmaking ability until he was named the starter when Richards graduated, but Freddette has been the PG for BYU and he hasn’t shown really great passing ability.

Freddette may not be on the same level as Curry as a playmaker, but he has definitely shown flashes of great passing ability. I think he is talented enough to be a first round pick, but the first round is loaded with alot of talent and potential that I just can’t see it happening right now. But with the T’Wolves having 3 first round picks, they will probably take him. You can never have enough guards.

Jimmer wouldn’t be the first, Danny Ainge and Sean Bradley come to mind as other Mormon NBA players. To me he reminds me a lot of Dan Dickau of Gonzaga a few years back, I think he’ll be a solid backup pg.

i can see him going second round. his pg ability isnt that great but he can shoot and score. he can do what the juan kid in dalls is doing. be a scoring back up pg off the bench

OMG, don’t say he would will be a second rounder, because then there will be five threads debating Fredette involving the Knicks.

Quincey, you also keep comparing him to small guards. He isn’t small and doesn’t lack athleticism. Kenny Boynton is not a bad defensive player, and Fredette was getting to the hoop all the time. He not only gets a step on his man, but he doesn’t have to rush himself when doing so. A lot of guys try to go too quick for their own good and lose control. I could quite a few teams in the middle to late portions of the first round wanting to take Fredette, and willing to give him a guarantee. Miami, for one, could use a point guard who can play both on the ball and off. OKC needs more consistent scoring around Durant. Memphis is going to have to think long and hard as to whether they want to continue with Mike Conley as their starting point guard. I’d take Fredette over a washed up Jason Williams and Anthony Johnson right now. Boston could look for a backup point, and his ability to shoot the ball could also allow him to get a few minutes alongside Rondo at the 2.

As a knicks fan I would love Fredette, but he isn’t a pure point guard and that’s what the Knicks need. I think Jimmer will be a good pro, but he needs to stay his senior year.

Quincey, Barea is the smallest player on the floor every single time he steps on it. If it wasn’t for his obvious physical shortcomings, he would have never gone undrafted and would likely be debated as a potential starting point guard when he becomes a free agent. The guy is a tough little player who is really smart, but it is hard to overlook the fact that he is in reality 5’10-ish and maybe 160 lbs with not exactly Iverson-esque athleticism. Fredette has typical point guard size and strength.
