Lotto StudParticipantWill Jerryd Bayless be on the trading block this year due to all the guard acquisitions on the Blazers roster, if so what are the potential landing spots for him?

McWinningParticipantif he did go to the D-league that would be sick.
I seriously think he could average 40+ points a game.
I mean he averaged 29 when he was 19 in the summer league.

btown gmParticipantbayless is 2 good for the d leauge, hes better than most backups and has high ponetial. this guy can score and he should be a good fit on a team looking for a spark of the bench.

WizardofOzParticipantThis is my trade idea that would send Jerryd Bayless out of town.
Portland receives:
Jonny Flynn
Corey Brewer
Kosta KoufosMinnesota receives:
Jerryd Bayless
Rudy Fernandez
2012 first-rounderThis trade is good for both teams because the Blazers get rid of two guys that are not used properly in Bayless and Fernandez. Bayless is a fan-favorite, but he is not a good fit for the Blazers system.
Fernandez is a talented player on Portland’s roster who is under-utilized, and there have been so many trade rumors that include him.
Portland would receive young and talented PG Johnny Flynn, who would learn behind a solid, veteran PG in Andre Miller.
They would also acquire Corey Brewer, who is a great defender and can shoot 3’s.
Oh and Kosta Koufus is included.

Meditated StatesParticipantToo good for D league.

HotSnotParticipantBayless is hardly untouchable but i would imagine Portland doesn’t entertain trading him in a player for player swap. He would have to be included in a larger deal which would send Portland back another decent guard in return.
Bayless is entering his third season and can’t be sent to the Dleague unless he voluntarily accepts the assignment. Located in the CBA rules.

Spurs2020ParticipantThe Blazers organizartion should be ashamed of how they have handled him…. if your gonna aqauire a talent like that at 19 years old… you’re obliged to develop him, or trade him for someone who your team actually will play…. (the lakers drafted baby bynum and while he was sitting he was working with kareem, at least give him something similiar if u gonna bench him)
Hes so ambitious you can feel that everytime he steps on the court hes trying to prove himself, but that atitude combined with his crippling inexperience means hes gonna be turnover prone and generally a little out of control…
get him on a crap team, start him at pg, and let him develop the way oj mayo and drose got the chance to, if that happens, he will learn, hell develop, and hell be a great player

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantHe isin’t going anywhere. I think he’s a solid player who’s going to be a good piece in Portland next season.
Armon Johnson, Patty Mills are his backups.

McWinningParticipantDoes anyone know if Portlands made their decision to keep Armon, or Patty yet?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/30/2010 - 10:01am #365656

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI know Mills is getting tons of overseas looks. I don’t know about Johnson too much.
I think right now, the Blazers should keep Mills. He looked impressive. I think letting him go and letting him be a backup with another team ( New York, Charlotte, Toronto) could end up biting them in the butt.

Demarcus OnealParticipantWell portland did lose Steve Blake so they might keep Bayless to fill that role

OhCanada-ParticipantIf Portland wants Granger they have all the pieces to make the perfect deal for him, so does New Orleans.

joecheck88Participantdidnt indiana draft bayless and swap him for b rush and something else? i think bayless needs to be atleast a 6th man that can come in and have the ball in his hands and put in 12 to 15 a game or use him as a piece to get b roy a legit running mate because aldridge is really just a guy that is a spot up shooter and not much else.

fastdanParticipantPortland traded Jarret Jack and Rush for Bayless…I never really understood that deal…

huff09ParticipantBayless is a beast. Watched him in high school single handedly carry his terrible team to the state title game in the best league in az. I know it was high school, but man he was/is special. Really hope he gets a chance to start or play big meaningful minutes next year.

scoutguruParticipantMan Bayless has been on the block since he step foot in that league. Not because of his lack of talent, but just due to his role on that team. He’ll always be a guy other teams covet because he’s a guy who can get his own shot and score at that combo guard position off of some1’s bench. And playing on Portland doesn’t help since they want their pg’s to be distributors and initiate offense, not necessarily look to create their own shot, they already have enough ppl to score. But if I’m Bayless just be patient, in two years you’ll get your shot to test free agency, and if he shows well in his bench role now, there’s no doubt teams will be calling when he’s a (restricted) free agent.
