SteroidParticipantApparently, Deron Williams was upset because of Sloan’s work ethic, according to Chris Broussard. Williams was upset because they weren’t watching enough film or getting the new players acclimated to system. Sloan just doesn’t have it in him anymore. When I find a supporting article, I’ll post. I’m just watching it on ESPN right now. I figured that people were jumping the gun on this and calling Williams a diva, etc.,… Nothing is as quite as it seems.

Ghost01ParticipantIts sounding like Deron Williams is just a little baby. He will be leaving summer of 2012, i would expect.

SteroidParticipantHow does wanting the team to work more equate into being a baby? That sounds like the mentality of someone who wants to win to me. A baby would complain about doing too much, not doing enough.

Ghost01ParticipantIm not saying what he wanted to happen was wrong, what im saying is defying a coach whose been around for 23 years and carried multiple definitely mediocre teams to 50 wins, that his style isnt right, and that we should do things Deron’s way, to the point that the guy stepped down, is just ridiculous.
His body language has been embarrassing, he looks like he just thinks hes better than everybody else and when something goes wrong its not his fault, funny, seeing as his last game under coach sloan he turned the ball over himself 2 of the last 3 possessions of the game.

SteroidParticipantWhenever a coach doesn’t take the time to get the new players acclimated to the system, and he doesn’t spend enough time talking about the Xs and Os of the game with his team, then there is a problem. If I felt like the guy who is supposed to lead us isn’t setting the standard or doing his job to the best of his ability anymore, I’d be disgruntled too. Sloan just doesn’t have it in himself anymore to coach right now. A coach in his right mind would LOVE to have a star player who wanted to practice and watch film. Rumor has is that Deron has only watched film in only a few time in a couple of years peroid, maybe more, which is ridiculous! That isn’t Deron’s fault for wanting to do more. It’s more of a personal problem with Sloan.

Ghost01ParticipantHas Jerry Sloan been successful? Yes. Has this "wrecked team" he walked from been in the playoff mix the entire season? Yes. He can have his own way of running things. Hes earned that. Theres no evidence its not working except for Deron not liking it.

OhCanada-ParticipantA properly Jerry Sloan coached team would never include an uninspired lead PG. If Sloan was on his A-Game I gaurentee there would be no slippage from Williams.

goneParticipantActually there is evidence. Deron said he feels like there going into games unprepared because Sloan doesnt watch game tapes and I remeber the jazz going thru a stretch of games where they had to overcome big leads from other teams.

ZeroParticipantI’ve read that Sloan felt ownership listened to Williams more than they were to him and that Sloan was getting tired of Williams blaming everyone else.

Maysek22ParticipantI think its probably a combination of the 2; sloan losing the motivation and work eithic that typifies his career, and deron williams being a millionaire prima donna who wants a more uptempo system and more autonomy so that he can put up better #’s heading towards free agency.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantOnce Utah figures out that Deron Williams has no intention of resigning with them the Jazz will have no choice but to entertain trade offers. The future of the Jazz from this point forward doesn’t look too bright.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThey can make some major moves and get a player or two using AK and possibly gasp Deron Williams…Imo if they could get either a solid Center or Starting Sg using Kirelenko’s expiring deal( Kaman, Dalembert, Hamilton and Captain Jack all fit that bill)..

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantChose D Will over Sloane, I can’t see them moving him right now, I think a moving AK47 or Millsap is the most likely scenario…you think a deal like Millsap and Hayward for Granger and Hibbert might work, if the Jazz throw in a few picks…

BKKnicksfanParticipantHere’s my list of Utah trades
- Ak47, 2012 1st round pick for Wallace, Mohammed
- Jefferson, Price for Gordon, Stuckey and Wilcox
- Williams and Bell for Martin, Brooks, Hill, Budinger and a 2012 1st round pick
You turn: Williams, Ak47 and Jefferson
Into: Gerald Wallace, Kevin Martin, Aaron Brooks ( Starters), Rodney Stuckey, Ben Gordon ( bench guards), Budinger, Hill ( rotation players), Mohammed, Wilcox (cap space) and a 2012 1st rounder

SwatLakeCityParticipantTo further support my position on this controversy, which btw i think is just absurd, here is a link to what Ty Corbin, Dwill himself and bunch of jazz players have said about the recent happenings. Read this and you will see that there is NO WAY dwill could have had any say in Jerry Sloan’s decision to resign, nor did he want to.
http://www.nba.com/2011/news/02/11/utah-jazz-ty-corbin-first-practice.ap/index.html?cid=nba.2013
Now if that isn’t any hint on how Dwill respects coach Sloan than I don’t know what is. Just because said something ridiculuos doesn’t mean its true. While we can’t control what the media we can control our own thoughts and feelings. Take a look inside of you, do you really think that Dwill would force Coach Sloan into retirement? I don’t think so, its just not in his nature nor will it ever be.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s the thing… I do feel it’s Deron Williams’ nature/personality.
Say what you want about Derrick Rose, but one thing about him stood out to me… When coach Thibs sat him for an extended period earlier in the season and Rose was asked about it, he replied… "No… I don’t have a problem with it at all. I support my coach and will follow him to the end."
I like that.

When asked about Earl Watson’s acquistion during the off-season and asked about what he knew about Watson, Williams said, "He’ll get me some rest."
Williams is a d*ck head.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI’m fine, I just think it is pathetic that you guys seriously think this and actually agree with the media. Not only did dwill do this (support Jerry Sloan like I showed you guys) but so did the rest of the team. They not only backed dwill up, like CJ Miles did, but they also stated their own feelings about his resignation. All were completely shocked and sad to see him leave. (I just hope their emotions don’t get the best of them tonight.) If you actually took some time to read what I posted you would see how pathetic you guys and the media sound right now for even thinking that DWill forced Sloan into retirement. You seriously cannot read the link that I posted and think that DWill is some "crybaby diva" who thinks of nobody but himself. Please, the guy is a total professional as is the rest of the team including the new coach, Ty Corbin. As a matter of fact I bet you guys all a million dollars that if any of us actually asked Jerry Sloan, himself, about Dwill supposedly forcing him into retirement, he would laugh at the question, totally dismiss it, and probably make you guys feel ashamed of yourself in the process.

This is just absurd that you guys and the media would actually think and believe this. If I am the only one that has this view then so be it. I will always be behind Dwill, Ty Corbin, Jerry Sloand and the rest of the Jazz organization no matter what. I trust them that much cuz they all know what they are doing. This might even be the final straw of me and my comments on this site.
