the I in winParticipantHe was recently traded to the Hawks but they have now cut him.

Who should take a flyer on him? Have people lost faith in him or does he just need the right situaiton/time?0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/06/2013 - 11:30am #753068
jhbm24ParticipantWhy not get a little more youth that will learn from kg and Doc can keep him in line. I really thought he could come out and produce if taught correctly but on the warriors mark jackson doesn’t know what’s wa doing in terms of big man prospects.

yungnwildSixers could use him!

SiggyParticipantI don’t think any team in the NBA can really use him. Look at the teams who got rid of him. They weren’t exactly loaded with bigs.

the I in winParticipantThe Heat recently gave up on Pittman, they could start on their next project big.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantJosh Selby got did the same way, Cleveland (not exactly a loaded 15 man roster) cut him loose this week. I thought he would be insurance if Ellington and Gibson walk this year, guess not.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantBut i hope Sixers take a chance on him

TyroberParticipantAlways thought he had a lot of talent. Hope he finds the right situation.

Mr. 19134ParticipantActually I’d rather the Sixers take a flyer on Selby, it’s a better investment then Jeremy Pargo. I want the Sixers to sign Hassan Whiteside I dunno why he hasn’t got called up yet this season but he’s been playing 4th down in the NBDL and punting shots left and right.

Meditated StatesParticipantShould give him a 10 day. Check him out, why not?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/06/2013 - 2:14pm #753113

FastAndFuriousParticipantIt’s crazy how Josh Selby got cut by Cleveland and the main guy on Cleveland and one of the best young players in the world is on that team, and Selby was actually touted as a better prospect than him in HS.

Meditated StatesParticipantDoes not fit the NBA game. Good ball player though. Good Rec room shooter too.

Beard13ParticipantI hope the magic take a look at selby. We need youth at the pg position
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/06/2013 - 2:43pm #753119

Malik-UniversalParticipantwhat Selby should’ve done was go back for his sophomore yr at Kansas

omphalosParticipantYeah I was begging for Boston to select Tyler when he came out, amd I thought Charlotte was a great landing spot for him, its a shame his rights got sold to GSW because there were minutes for the taking in CHA.
I hope the Celtics pick him up, he’s a poor man’s Andre Drummond in terms of being extremely mobile and athletic for his size/build, he just needs to develop his offensive game. Hopefully he goes down to the D-League and develops his post play on a team where he’ll get looks there.

Chilbert arenasParticipantTyler and Selby both need to go play overseas or in Dleague and get humbled.

NYFLAVA2K9ParticipantToo late for Tyler… He’s been “humbled” by both already lol

Mr. 19134ParticipantSelby does have a place in the NBA he’s just need to develop more. It’s funny somebody mentioned he was on the same team as Kyrie and got cut despite being a much higher touted prospect just 2 years earlier then Kyrie. However I like to compare Selby to another guy who took his minutes and that’s Jerryd Bayless. Bayless was HS prodigy and a freshman sensation at Arizona but it took him a few years to find his groove as it usually does for combo guards. Selby is the same type of player, he’s a spark plug off the bench. Shannon Brown is another guy I’d compare Selby too for their athleticism and ability to hit the long ball.
Tyler is so big and athletic he def has a place in the league too he just needs to mature and develop his game more.

kngojcParticipantIn reference to Tyler… If a guy like Kwame Brown, and I want to emphasize that part, can get contracts from teams then there is no way a guy like Tyler (big build, tall, good potential if at very least some) should have no problems finding a landing spot. I suppose the main thing he needs is just the RIGHT landing spot.

DolanCareParticipantI dunno guys. Whenever I saw Tyler play, he just came off as a bad basketball player. This thread mentioned Selby and Honeycutt, two players who are very skilled and could definitely make a roster. I believe in them more than Tyler.
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/07/2013 - 1:22am #753227

omphalosParticipantTyler’s problem is that he can do too much on the basketball court; he favours this turnaround jumper because he has it in his head that a harder move is a better move, but with the right coaching and a good veteran mentor he could still carve out a place in the NBA, he just needs someone to take the time to break it down for him and make him use the fundamentals along with that great body control and coordination.

417basketballfanParticipantBy those Honeycutt and Tyler getting cut shows just how good the NBA has become.

TRC1991ParticipantJosh Selby tore up the summer league…there’s no way he cant play in this league
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/07/2013 - 6:03am #753250

Mr. HookShotParticipantI like to see both Selby and Tyler (and every other young player) to go to the Spurs (in the off season). They tend to make young talent better in a winning environment.
