I’ve been trying to think of an NBA comparison for him but I just can’t put my finger on it. What do you guys think? I think he has potential and I sure hope he gets put in the right system.

With all of that potential, do you think Sacramento should grab him in the second round? If they are able to get Irving with their lottery pick of course. Or would Jereme not be a good fit there? I’ve never seen him play but I’ve heard he’s good and got lots of potential. I also do not think he should have come out but instead transfered to another school. But I think he is coming out because of the situation in Illinois. Transfering would have been a better option I think but maybe he didn’t want to have to sit out for a year. Maybe he wanted to get to the NBA as fast as possible? (almost too fast)

who cares? he’s pretty original, commits to Illinois as a freshman in HS and #1 rated prospect in his class, shows his immaturity and tails off a bit in recruiting rankings, finally comes to Illinois and looks like a 3 year player at first then steps up and shows he is easily the best player on the team then almost leaves the team, then comes back and plays well and finally gets suspended for 2 NCAA tourney and says F U to Illinois and bounces to association where he could go anywhere from the 20’s to late 2nd round….i will always wonder wat effect he would have had against KU and what he would have been next year as the man. As i’ve stated on here before i’m a diehard Illini fan and am just so sad about this man, we gotta find another Bill Self, I’m sick of Bruce man, he won with Bill’s players and hasn’t done ish since….def. worried about next year

and no, ebanks couldn’t rebound like jereme and while ebanks wasn’t great but he could shoot better than jereme. Ebanks doesn’t have the potential jereme has and never will. And no I have him on the Celtics late 1st round in my mock, perfect situation IMO, they have harnassed big baby’s emotion, then can do that with jereme

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Ebanks was just as good as a rebounder than he(Richmond) maybe better….and both cant shoot to save their lives. i think the Ebanks comparison is solid….

Best fit for him would be a team like Washington, Sacramento, or maybe even Cleveland where they seem to play young immature players, with horrible fundementals, that play no defense, and seem to base entire stretches of a 48 minute games success on the number of highlight reel plays and a nice statline. If I run the Washington Wizards I do anything I can to bring Perry Jones, Jereme Richmond, and Josh Selby in through the draft….scary thing is the team probally will do something like that. SMH.

Davon Jefferson. Both had the body of a wing who played the 4 in college because of a lack of a shot. Neither were mature coming out of college, though Richmond has more fights and suspensions on his resume. Just like with Jefferson, Richmond will go undrafted.

I think Davon had a lil more of a motor and was way more athletic and was more of a 4 than a 3. I see him as a Corey Brewer type player w/o the experience of course. But he has a long way to go, and probably coulda been better coming out after 3 years than Brewer. He should go late 2nd to undrafted and should prepare to go up against some grown men in that D-League who are all hungry.

I actually agree with the Devon Jefferson comparison. Jefferson never had the perimeter skills to be a SF, and he was essentially in a SF’s body but played like a PF, the same faith will happen to Richmond. And Richmond didn’t even have Jefferson’s skills, that’s how raw Richmond is offensively.

I thought it was a horrible idea but unsurprisingly a couple of scouts think he will go first round because of his potential

Devin Ebanks is a very valid comparison, as is Davon Jefferson. Jefferson was better than Richmond in college though IMO.
