I’m a Denver fan and Carmelo wants to sign an extension only if they get some youth around him. So Denver should trade Martin’s expiring deal to Minny allow draft Cousins and have a Cousins/Love/martin rotation while Denver goes

Nene, Jefferson,Anthony,Affalo,Billups and Andersen, Smith, Lawson and a FA PF and SF to fill holes and Denver can finally contend the way they want too.

I understand that Martin is the most trade able asset on the team but i disagree with you in the since that Martin played a key role this year until he got hurt.

The T’Wolves are DETERMINED to trade Jefferson, so I think he will get traded

And I know they might want an expiring, but Jefferson is a good player and I think they can get some more ‘bang for their buck’, I dont think they do that K-Mart deal

I hear they are looking to swap Jefferson for Zach Randolph and either trade Randolph again or waive him. But that looks to be over, I think he’s being traded no matter what.

Ford tweets that this deal will likely not come to fruition: “Jefferson for Randolph talks appear dead. Memphis is unwilling to part with their picks as part of a deal. Minnesota thinks they can do better.”

From ESPN’s Chad Ford: “Sources have told me that the Wolves and Grizzlies have been discussing a swap that would send Al Jefferson to the Grizzlies for Zach Randolph. The deal would allow the Wolves to save a lot of money over time. Randolph has one year, $17.6 million left on his contract. Jefferson has three years, $42 million left.”

It’s been known for some time now that the Wolves see Kevin Love and Jefferson as a pair that doesn’t quite fit on the defensive end of the floor, and there have been rumblings one of the two could be traded.

Yet, Randolph has a bad rep as a defender, so such a trade doesn’t necessarily provide a huge upgrade on D.

As Ford notes, picks could also be swapped in this deal, and it could potentially open up more playing time for Love or Derrick Favors, if he’s availabe for the team to select with their No. 4 pick in Thursday night’s draft.

ESPN’s Bill Simmons writes on Wednesday that when healthy, Jefferson is still a force down low:

if they release him he could just go back in a month and have a great 3 man big man rotation of; Gasol, Randolph and Jefferson with sometimes Thabeet.

    Conley – Bledsoe / Tinsley
    Mayo – Brewer / Young
    Gay – George / Young
    Randolph – Jefferson / Arthur
    Gasol – Thabeet / Jefferson

Why not a Jefferson for Redd swap? Obviously there’s a bit in salary to make up, but a trade of these two as the major pieces would work. Wolves are looking to save cash, and if by some chance Redd gets healthy, they have a decent wing. Bucks would be ready to get into it in the East if they play like they did before Bogut got hurt and have Maggette and Jefferson in tow..

    Bucks

    F Jefferson
    F Maggette
    C Bogut
    G Douglas-Roberts
    G Jennings
    6 Ilyasova
    7 #15 pick

    Wolves

    F Love
    F
    C
    G Redd
    G Flynn

    Rights to Rubio, #4 pick
