Yandyhere2ParticipantMaybe so, but he knew he could play care free and make mistakes without looking over his shoulder with Jeff not playing last night. Regardless of what it was, his feel for the game, passing instincts and IQ already are better than Jeff’s.

jwall1Participantlol as much as people on here are praising Shroeder, there is no way he will be starting over Teague. 7 turnovers with only 4 assists is awful, and certainly nothing rondo-like. 1 good shooting night in the preseason does not mean much.

HobbyOGParticipantAs a Hawks fan I was curious on why would you draft a PG with your first pick in the first round and sign Teague to a new contract for that many years. It didn’t make sense to me.

GrandmamaParticipantI’m assuming they felt he was either best player available, or had the most upside, and took him They can also look to trade him for something else. Kinda like what the Bulls did drafting Marquis Teague. Yeah, obviously he was never going to be the starter. They felt he was the either the best player available, or had the most upside, and were thinking trade asset.

butidonthavemoneyReally? I mean, give the kid some credit. He’s more like a more athletic John Stockton, or a better passing Gary Payton. Realistically, he’s Isiah Thomas with better intangibles. I see his floor close to Magic Johnson and Walt Frazier playing in one of those two-man horse costumes and his upside as a rich man’s human centipede of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. Schroeder is essentially the product of Michael Jordan being immaculately impregnated by God. Dennis Schroeder is God. S-C-H-R-0-E-D-E-R i-S G-O-D.

B-ball fanParticipantThe efficiency may not be there yet, but his court vision, ball handling ability, and feel for running the offense already look like they could be better than Teague’s. Once he improves his strength and scoring ability, he could be the best pg from this draft class.

JoeWolf1Schroeder has a lot of promise, but he’s 2-15 from 3 point range this pre-season and has 19 TO’s per 17 assists this pre-season. Teague may be in trouble in two or three years, but not this season.

Yandyhere2ParticipantNo, I give it another year and Teague will be getting shipped, all Ferry is looking for is probably consistency from Schroeder and then Teague will be gone.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThey’d be a smallish backcourt, but I think Schroeder and Teague can play together. Teague is no smaller than Lou Williams.

Yandyhere2ParticipantTeague is bigger than Lou Williams.
They both stand at about 6’1 but Teague has at least 20 pounds on him, have you seen Teague this season yet? He bulked up big time.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWas talking about more from a height/length perspective.
Wasn’t really trying to get into detailed specifics. Just that both players around the same size.

frogmanParticipantCouple of notes.
1. Holy crap that kid has a forehead on him
2. Definitely looks like Dirk would rather be at Oktoberfest than playing defence.
3. Slow down a bit on overhyping this poor kid. ‘Rondo with a jumpshot’ He hasn’t actually played a real game yet.0 - Posted on: Thu, 10/24/2013 - 6:00pm #845206

he_gets_bucketsParticipantPeople are getting a bit too excited. He had 7 turnovers and 4 assists. That isnt Rondo 2.0 and that isnt better then Jeff Teague. Everyone slow down.

ItsRainingNegsParticipantI’m all about Dennis Schröder. I see a lot of Rondo in him (of course) but he’s not Rondo with a better jumpshot. I’d trade a 2014 pick for him if it’s out of the lottery. How he didn’t make lottery this year is a disgrace.

machu46ParticipantI like the kid as a prospect, but he has more turnovers than assists in the pre-season and he’s shooting somewhere around 30-40% from the field. He’s shown flashes, but he’s struggled for the most part.
