FastAndFuriousParticipantCome on can this dude get some love?! Nobody posts about the guy besides me.
Dude is the best PG in the East right now and is arguably the reason the Hawks are in 3rd place in the East, he leads the team in PPG and APG, I know the East is weak but everyone had the Hawks at best as the 9th seed in the East.
Big ups to JT I been saying dude was the real deal, he doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

Cardinal_FanParticipantI liked him alot in college and really like the player he’s grown into, i just think he lacked consistency. I never saw why people killed him on this site saying he’s nothing more then a back up point guard. Is he a superstar no, but he has the potential to be a Mike Conley type all-star caliber player

KHAM83ParticipantI’m going to say Teague easily over Conley. Conley has performed at higher stage bc of his team’s success, but I think Teague is showing that he’s a better player. Well this is pending till the playoffs and we see how Teague performs in high pressure and clutch situations.
Also, if you’re a Hawks fan, when Hawks win and Nets lose, that’s having our cake and eating it too! Remember we get to swap picks with them.
On that note, what’s the deal with that saying? What else are you to do with cake besides eat it? Eating it is a very common thing when you have it.

Sewok15ParticipantI like Teague myself but I would still prefer Conley. Teague is leading his team in scoring and assists but he also is averaging a career high in turnovers. He is shooting as bad from 3 as he has since his rookie year at 22.9 %. The main difference so far this year is his ability to get to the foul line. His free throw attempts have more than doubled from 2.8 to 6.7 per game so far this year.
Meanwhile Conley is averaging more points than Teague and shooting 8% higher from the field and 10 % higher from 3. Teague does average more assists which isn’t surprising with the pace the Grizz play at and considering they run a lot of stuff through Gasol and Randolph. They do have similar assist to turnover ratios with Teague squeaking it out so far with a .12 advantage.
The main reason I would prefer Conley is because I feel he is the better defender. Conley is more effective not just gettting steals but preventing dribble penetration and that is an important quality for your point guard to have. The gap between the two guys isn’t that big at all but Conley has proven more to me. Teague is a year younger with 2 less years experience so in a caouple years maybe this will change.
Teague has also started 18 playoff games the last 3 years so it isn’t like we haven’t seen him under presssure in big games before.

TRC1991ParticipantI’ve always liked Jeff Teague – just have hated the restrictions his past coaches have put on him…He impressed me thoroughly 2 years ago when ATL played BOS in the playoffs…He balled out and matched up with Rondo evenly

I think this was the biggest reason why he hasnt developed more quickly. Also, I think he has worked very hard to improve his game and I dont think he is done improving yet. The talks of him being traded for Jennings was ridiculous. I think most people realized that. I knew the Hawks were not that stupid. Not to bash Jennings because I think they were close overall but why trade if its not a huge improvement…especially if you are getting rid of a player who looked like he was continually progressing for one who hasnt shown much advancement.0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/24/2013 - 5:37am #852158
