Jazz_ItalyParticipantaccording to SLCtrib’s Brian T. Smith and David Locke (close to Jazz) Utah will pick Kanter at 3, because Knight didnt convinced totally

PHILA9ParticipantYes thats the news rising everywhere today and honestly I dont think he’ll be another Darko or Hoffa you Jazz fans are worried about lol. But you guys have to ship out Millsap so you can have a front court of Derick Favors and Enes Kanter.. not bad at all in my opinion

Chilbert arenasParticipantTurkish front court with Okur and Kanter. But if this is true the Cavs should consider who they’ll be getting at 4 before taking Irving #1.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIf Utah gets both Kanter and Jimmer then I think that they win this draft. They get 2 of my top 7 guys (others are Williams, Kemba, Knight, Irving and Vesely).
Best inside scorer and the best outside scorer. Sounds pretty good for the 3rd pick and the 12th pick.
If the Cavs pick Irving at one, and if Williams and Kanter go 2 and 3, then where do they go at 4?

BloodyCrumpetParticipantThis is the best scenario for the Jazz, and something that I’ve been preaching for the last two and a half months.
Hopefully, this means Jefferson is out of the picture.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIf those guys are off the table, do the Cavs take another point guard with Knight? I don’t see it.Other than that though, they can take Jonas and wait a year (gamble) or take Jan Vesely (another gamble). At four, the best guys on the board are Knight, Walker, and Fredette all small guards. Not sure they can get a great value at 4. Vesely looks promising but he is more of a finisher and he can’t rebound or hit free throws. … I think if the Cavs take Irving at number 1 then they have to hope that Kanter or Williams is still on the board, otherwise I don’t think it’s a good pick with the only big men left being basically role players (Kawhi Leonard too).

Ahkasi ClayParticipantthis might be a play to force the wolves hand, to take him @ 2 dropping Williams, or as trade with washington for the 6th +

Awesome-O-420ParticipantWrong, Locke has NOT reported Jazz are taking Kanter, and neither has Brian T. Smith. Both have responded to rumors they’re hearing, but have said they’ve not heard anything from the Jazz. They also stressed they cannot read KOC or get anything from him.
Past two weeks, Jazz were said to have Knight over Kanter, and suddenly Minnesota is saying they’re taking Kanter after a bunch of trade rumors fell through, and now Jazz saying they’re taking Kanter, doesn’t sound like smoke screen to you?
When have the Jazz EVER leaked anything about who they’re taking in the past? The only time it seemed clear was 05, when they moved up into #3 and the best PG they had worked was DWill.
Smoke Screen…
Me thinks teams trying to shake draft up with smoke screens…The only thing that is constant in every draft. And in a draft with this much uncertainty, do you expect anything less?

WizardofOzParticipantI still think they take Knight. I think it’s a huge smokescreen.

Mr. JewboyParticipantWhat I don’t get is why would the Jazz draft a Pf/C when they’re best talent are those two positions in Favors (who woulda gone #1 this year), Al Jefferson (best numbers on the Jazz and still pretty young), Millsap and Okur(biggest contracts on the team)
I understand that Kanter is pretty talented and relatively low risk considering his abilities and work ethic, but drafting him creates a problem up front.
