BallerScriptParticipantI was watching highlights and videos of him on youtube and the only player he reminds me of is Kevin Durant. His footwork, his passing ability and the way he handles the ball all reminds me of KD. If he improves his already good jumpshot to great then I think he will be able to dominate college and maybe be a n offensive threat and all star in the NBA. What do you guys think of Tatum?

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantI like him a lot. Of all the players in the class of 2016 that I have seen he is my favorite to watch. His mid range game is unbelievable for someone in high school. He likes to pull up off the dribble going left and knock down a free throw line jumper. He is also good at driving to the rim and finishing. Has all of the tools to be a good defender in time, once he learns everything he needs to know on defense. Already an elite level free throw shooter and has good vision as a passer too.
He needs to work on his 3-point shot and needs to get stronger like most prospects his age. HIs jump shot is so smooth. I think his potential is through the roof.

GBeeParticipantHe really plays nothing like Grant Hill. Grant was a do it all point forward with a tremendous first step. He was more athletic and had a much better floor game. Tatum’s floor game is overrated IMO. When he catches the ball in the halfcourt, he can put blinders on trying to create his own shot from the mid. In the open floor he has a tendency to try to weave through traffic by himself instead of making that hit ahead pass. His defensive instincts aren’t that great either. Lateral quickness is just ok and he can be pretty hands-y.
To me he plays like a less athletic Rudy Gay. Similar body type. Long, wiry but with broad shoulders so you could see his frame filling out. Rudy’s more vertically explosive, but Tatum is a bit more advanced at the same stage in terms of shooting. Both have advanced shot-creating skills in the mid with the ability to step back or raise up over just about anyone, but have ball-stopping tendencies. First steps aren’t great, but they’re rangy with their long strides. Again, young Rudy was more explosive, but Tatum is a bit more clever with his footwork on his drives, utilizing more euro and drag steps.

Bob BallParticipantWhen I look at him I See Harrison Barnes. smooth scorers who areant great of dribble are very good athlethes but not world class, like say an Andrew Wiggins. In the class of rising sdeniors I prefer Josh Jackson but still think Tatum is very good.
