Denver has agreed to trade Javale Mcgee and a first round pick via OKC to the 76ers.  Not sure if Philly is trying to assesmble an army of athletic shot blockers or if this move was simply for the first round round pick and to buyout Mcgee.  But either way it is interesting to see how much Mcgee’s stock has fallen.  Whether his knucklehead reputation has caught up to him or the leg injury is more serious than we know, in a league where size is a premium Mcgee’s value has plummeted to cents on the dollar.

Looks like Denver is acquiring Cent Akyol for Javale Mcgee and a first round pick. Denver must have really wanted rid of Mcgee and his 11 million salary hit for next year to get nothing in return unless you still consider Cent…5 Cent…10 Cent Akyol a prospect.

JaVale hasn’t been healthy enough to be maddening for some time now. I guess Philly can look at it as they have plenty of time to see if McGee can get his body back. It is not as if they are doing anything else with their cap space anytime soon.

In as much as I was not a huge fan of Denver’s upside, it stinks that a horrible run of injuries over the past couple years has put them in this spot. Cutting the cord is probably for the best, but that Faried extension looks a whole lot worse on a rebuilding team where energy is the least of their concerns.

Philly is racking up the assets in getting Javale Mcgee, 1st round pick and potential all star in the making Nigerian forward Chu Chu Maduabum (insert sarcasm here).
