Didn’t know if you guys caught the game tonight/yesterday. But in the NBA, JaVal McGee recorded SIX blocks in 14minutes of play off the bench. Averaging 1.5blocks in 8minutes as of this moment.

    Two questions raised here.

    1) If he was given starter minutes (20~30minutes), will he still be as effective on defense now that he needs to conserve a bit more?

    2) What do people think of his prospect as a NBA starter? Can he turn into a lockdown defender, with huge blocks and rebounds like what we see in Dwight and Oden?

Keep in mind he also is averaging 1.5 fouls for those 8 minutes….so for him to not foul out in 30 minutes he would have to be less aggressive, and thus his blocks would go down.

Wiz need to listen to me when I say they need to start the youth movement, Play the kid, and develop him…Yeah, he gets alot of fouls, but that’s apart of developing…Oden has cut down his foul numbers a bit

He doesnt have Dwight Howard potential, but he does have the potential to be something special in the NBA, especially with the shallow Center position….give him time, and watch him improve..

Call me crazy, but i’d like to see the Wiz trade there big 3, get as many picks as possible, and start the youth movement with Young, McGee, and Blatche

He was good, I watched the game. Him and Nick Young were good. McGee is very talented, he has nice moves in the low and high post and with his freakish length and athleticism, he will always be a great shot blocker in the NBA. I think they’ll be well off developing him, because he has the potential to be a special center in the NBA, especially as he adds muscle to his frame.

Who’s the Wizards GM its not Ernie Grunfeld is it he was the Knicks GM during the 90’s he didn’t do much except get Derek Harper once Doc Rivers got hurt. Draft wise you think the Knicks screwed up the last 2 years in the 90’s he messed up on every pick he took Hubert Davis over Sprewell and most of the guys he picked didn’t even make the bench.

I think Brendon Haywood is playing the best basketball of his career. I was expecting McGee to get more minutes this season, but then again I didn’t think Haywood would be pulling down 11 rebounds per game and blocking 2 shots either. I agree with Iguodala, he’ll be fine as he develops more and with Haywood doing a good job in the middle there is no rush to get him in at that position. I also expect his minutes to be up by the end of the season too.

2 more blocks by McGee in 15mins. This kid is quickly growing on me even though he doesn’t get significant minutes as of yet!
