Cavaliers420Participant#Cavs agree to 4yr, $25 million deal with guard Jarrett Jack. Fourth year is a team option, per league source
Great pick for the Cavaliers. Leaves us a solid option for a backup and can definitely step up in big moments. Has playoff experience, I’m pretty happy with this pick up. Thoughts?

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantGreat pick up and if all doesn’t go well, he is a very trade-able player on a reasonable deal. Excellent shooter and good on pick and rolls. Seems like an ideal signing. He doesn’t guard very well but nobody on the team does. I think its better for the Cavs to load up on offensive talent because Brown can make mediocre defenders better but a guy who is bad offensively would get worse with Brown.
The present and future looks more promising. This signing makes the 8th seed a goal not just a wish. The really weird thing about the team is, it could still use a starting small forward and center. The roster as assembled so far could get by but it feels weird that I am hopeful for a playoff birth even though the team could use two more starting caliber players. How often have you honestly said that about any team before?
I was holding out hope for a big Pekovic offer but that impossible now without a sign and trade.
This should help Waiters (especially) and Irving a lot, because it will keep them from feeling entitled to unlimited minutes and shots. Waiters will be forced to be more efficient.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantWith the signing of Jack and Clark, the Cavs gave themselves something just as good as finacial flexibility, they have roster flexibility. We know that only Kyrie is untouchable, Waiters, Thompson and Bennett have been shopped to some degree and the signing makes losing one of the guys expendable. If a Cavs can get the right guy losing one of them won’t seem to hurt as much now.
Livingston signed for the vets minimum in Brooklyn and while I really like the Jack signing, having Livingston at lets say double the minimum would not have been a bad route to take.

CavFanPRParticipantHonestly, I would prefer Livingston at 1/2 the cost. I’m a big fan of his versatility, it would be a perfect fit. He obviously didn’t care about money though, the management did their part to try and keep him so there should be no regrets.
