Wow, if Sullinger really is 6’10, 281 lbs I think that is great size for a power forward and definitely makes hima top-five pick next year.

JoeWolf1Said it before, but he needs to get down to 260-265 to answer some quesitons about conditioning. It’s not going to look good if he rolls into the combine at 281 lbs and 15% body fat.

aamir543ParticipantI love Sullinger, and I think he is going to beast at the next level, but why is my gut telling me "Sheldon Williams, Sheldon Williams, Sheldon Williams, Sheldon Williams".

sacphil_08Participant6’10 281 is still largely overweight. Demarcus cousins was about that same size last year at this time and everyone was talking about how he needed to be in much better condition. just because sullinger shedded some weight doesnt make him a top pick. Anyone that works out often knows that when you are overweight and first start working out that youll shed the "baby fat" quicker than anything else. In his case he can 10-20 lbs (or whatever it was) of baby fat and hes lost that. the next 20 will be A LOT more difficult. Not saying he wont but itll be really really tough

cward23Participantwhen he was interviewed the day before yesterday he said he’s 275. The scouts at the LeBron camp say he looks very very good at the weight he’s at. That has alot to do with the fact that most of his weight is in his lower body (most of everyone’s weight is there but his more so for a big man). He says he wants to get down to 250 by the time the season starts

cward23ParticipantThe difference is Cousins carried his weight different. You can see two people at the same weight but one looks out of shape and the other looks good because of the way they carry it and/or if they have a large lower body. Also scouts have mentioned on ESPN that Sullingers weight (and height if he measures shorter) are the only things that stops him from being considered top pick material (weight not because what he’s atnow since he gets up and down the floor faster than most bigs that check him, but for what can happen if it gets out of control)

NO EZ BUCKETSParticipantI know that sullinger needs to lose weight but part of his game is bodying people up and using his strength and weight to score. If he can stay around 265 then that would be very good for him. He would get faster and not have everyone(as in the scouts) saying he needs to get in better condition, yet at the same time his game would not have to change very much.

B-ball fanParticipantI think he may play a lot of center in the NBA, especially if he doesn’t lose weight, because their are so many super athletic 4s in the NBA who could really be tough for Sullinger to defend, especially on the pick and roll. If Sullinger really is 6’10" with a 7’1" wingspan, he shouldn’t have a problem playing center in the NBA with his strength, hands, and savvy around the hoop. It could really help him to develop a consistent jump shot for the NBA, too, although their is no reason for him to shoot many jumpers in college.

I don’t know why, they aren’t comparable outside of the fact they both are PF’s.

rydawgswParticipantI have a class with Sullinger this summer.. I’m 6’4", and after standing beside him a couple times, the 6’10" measurement is legit. He’s definitely trimmed down as well, don’t be surprised if he weighs in at 270 once the season starts..

Mr. 19134ParticipantFinally can we stop saying that Sullinger is undersized? IMO Hasheem Thabeet is undersized because the guy don’t have enough girth to hold his position in the post. Sullinger has the girth to not only hold his position but get any position he wants and seal it off in the post. Whether he’s 6’9 or 6’10 Sullinger is far from being under sized. But now that he has grown to be a legit 6’10 he actually has enough size to play center. Horford is the same exact height and length and made the All Star team last year as a center.
The most surprising measurement to me that came out of the camps was Tony Wroten measuring in at nearly 6’7. Next Penny Hardaway. It’ll be interesting to see if John Cal might the right pick in taking Teague over Wroten.

cward23ParticipantI don’t think he will have more troule with athletic fours anymore than other PF’s do. They may still get there points but i don’t see them dominating. And how well has Love and Z-Bo done against athletic 4’s? Being athletic is overrated

cward23ParticipantWroten has a very nice height for a PG but that 6’8 wing span is pretty small for his height (alot of players 6’2-6’4 have the same wingspan or longer)

HitsterParticipantSullinger was 286lbs at one of the camps/events last year I seem to believe, as was said above some guys carry weight better than other guys. Sullinger should over the next year or so figure out what his ideal playing weight is as he must have stopped or be very close to stopping growing and of course what weight suits him for an NCAA season might not be practical for an 82 game NBA season.
