Land of GrantParticipantLong, smooth scorer with nice defensive tools having a great night. 17 points, 5-10, 7 free throws, 4 boards.
I think his inconsistent shooting this year was a fluke as he’s always been a great shooter, he’s made some big shots, and has a real quick, pure stroke.
I wouldn’t mind taking this guy in the mid-late lottery, around the 9 slot.
By the way, did you know that his dad is named James Old! HAHAHAHA

CameronCrazy11ParticipantA guy who James Young was compared to before the season was Michael Redd. I think people started to sour on that comparison when Young didn’t shoot fairly well but let’s compare their freshman stats:
Michael Redd: 17.3 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.2 spg, 33.5 mpg, 43.6 FG%, 31.5 3PT%
James Young: 14.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.7 apg, 0.7 spg, 32.2 mpg, 40.6 FG%, 34.6 3PT%Now I’m not saying that James Young will be as good as a prime Michael Redd, but after looking at these stats and more importantly watching Young the past few games, it’s easier now to see why he was compared to him. I’m still a believer that James Young will become a star at the next level.

Land of GrantParticipantGood comp.
Would add though that by all accounts, Redd was a no-defense chucker. James Young seems to pick his spots.

imAboutDatActionParticipanthe has good tools and has a scorers mentality.
he can become a real good starting 2/3 but i think his best role in the NBA is a 6th man off the bench to provide instant offense. he’s so streaky, i think he’s made for a 6 man role.
