I know a lot of you guys, including myself, are fans of James White simply because he is an amazing dunker and fun to watch in the open floor, but looks like he won’t be playing at least for the Nuggets this season.

Forward James White, who was expected to battle Joey Graham for a roster spot, didn’t play again in Tuesday’s game. White, who signed a non-guaranteed contract with Denver, was just cut by the Nuggets this afternoon.

Expect Graham to play backup to Carmelo Anthony at small forward, and maybe even see some time at shooting guard with J.R. Smith out seven games with a suspension.

I’m not surprised, he is far from a complete player, but I was hoping to see him the dunk contest.

George Karl is a fan of Joey Grahm. They actually tried to trade for him a couple of seasons ago. I’m not surprised by this move.

James White kind of reminds me of Gerald Green. All the athleticism, etc in the world, but for some reason they can’t put it together and become the NBA players we want them to be.

Yeah, I even knew in college White was having trouble putting it together, he transfered and even there at Cinci he didn’t become the player his athleticism could have allowed him to be. Oh well, one trend I do like that has been coming back in the NBA that had kind of gone missing in the early 2000’s (except Bowen) was the defensive stopper. I feel there are a lot more players who are committing to becoming defensive specialists and emphasizing that part of the game more. It makes all the sense in the world Karl chose Graham over White, he offers more to the team, but yeah, I hear you Green, White, and others just can’t get it together.

At 27, I think he can call it a career (in terms of playing in the NBA)

But im also dissapointed, would of loved to see him in an NBA dunk contest

why would he call it a career at 27 in his prime..esspecially when he was signed last year to the rockets and players have came into the nba at older ages…ant parker, moon was a rookie at 27..naw he doesnt need to be a quiter and call it a career just work harder on his game..im still rooting for the fellow marylander

He still has chances to prove that he belonged in the League but he’s going to have a work ethic that can be compared to the likes of Sam Young to make it which is easier said than done… I like to see James White in Gerald Green’s situation… Both are highly athletic but rely on it too much… There’s still “hope” but I ain’t counting on it too much…
