I just read on hoops hype that he is going to meet with Donnie Walsh and Mike D’Antoni this week, do you guys think New York is a good fit for him, and if they sign him what does it mean for Duhon and Nate. I think it is a good move because he is a good pass first point gaurd that they will be able to get him at way bellow his true vaule.

Tinsley is a talented option at PG and is a high reward / high risk kind of guy

When he is healthy and not becoming involved in off-court altercations or destroying team chemistry, he is talented enough that he would be the starting PG for the Knicks, letting Nate be the high energy scoring option off the bench (a role he is well suited for) and putting Duhon at the end of the bench as a mop up man.

However questions on Tinsley’s athletic shape (hasn’t played in 2 years), ability to stay out of trouble (he was involved in several strip club altercations in Indianapolis, there is a lot more trouble to get into in NY), and ability to be a positive influence in the locker room make him a risk to sign.

If the Knicks get him on a cheap contract (Pacer’s owe him 10 million over the next two years anyway) it could be a great pickup.
