I’m not sure if you all are watching the Jam Fest on ESPNU currently, but I’ve been watching it since it started, and the judges are disappointing to me. A lot of these guys are doing some very impressive dunks and getting short changed alot. In my opinion, ONLY former or current basketball players should judge dunk contest, especially the real dunk contests such as this one.

Andrew Wiggins just did a 360 behind the back dunk and received a 50 from the judges, with 60 being the max. He literally took one dribble and did the dunk with EASE. It seems like they’re judging him off of how easy it looks for him. He clearly has the most bounce in the contest.

Aaron Gordon has probably got short changed more than anybody, even his peers are looking at the judges like wtf.
The judges just got worst as I’m typing…

This has to be the most atrocious display I have ever seen by judges.

Last remark, the dunks these guys performed were very very difficult but it was flawed by the judges, being led by Stephen A Smith, the same guy that called DeAndre Jordan’s posterization of Brandon Knight an 8!

If Wiggins had made that 4th dunk I would’ve lost it. You have to have INSANE ups to pull that off.

Aaron Gordon got robbed on his dunk where he cocked in back then reversed it. And Wiggons got a lower score on the one he got 50 cause it took him 4 or 5 times to do it.

I think Christ Walker’s hype from his first dunk carried him through the rounds since a lot of his subsequent dunks weren’t as impressive as his first. He had the crowd on lockdown, though, which I’m sure influenced the scores.

Don’t know how Andrew Wiggins was second to last. His dunks were extremely difficult.

Watching Randle n them’s reactions were awesome. Not saying Wiggins should have won with all the misses but it really shouldn’t matter, why else is there a countdown clock? Jabari was stunningly mediocre and got second?

Gordon also did some otherworldly stuff.

Can’t believe they did not have a final, really disliked the format. As awesome as some of Chris Walker’s dunks were, this dunk stole the show. Ridiculous.

Yea Jabari did good but not great, but received big scores… Chris Walker was very impressive but I think Wiggins did the most incredible dunks in the comp and never got the score he deserved. Whether he missed it the first time or not shouldnt matter because a 360 behind the back is still a 360 behind the back. It was the first time it’s been done! But Jabari got like a 56 for a regular dunk from the side of the backboard.
Gordon also did 2 dunks I had never seen.
If judged properly, this wouldve been one of the best high school dunk contests in a long long time

Jabari Parker’s overhype continues…Stephen A. Smith rode Parker’s junk all night…I dont think Parker is 1/2 the player Wiggins is

on a side note, Jale Rose made the following comment after a Rondae Jefferson dunk

“that dunk didnt have the same ups as the ones from Chris Wright, Andre Wiggins and Andrew Gordon”

He and Jay Williams embarassed themselves…Rose in particular going 0/3 on those names

Has the hype for a reason though. How many kids go 4 for 4 when it comes to state titles in high school.? And it’s a little absurd to say Jabari doesn’t have half the talent Andrew has

Can you believe some of the stuff these kids are doing nowadays? Makes me wonder what they’ll be doing a decade from now…

And also yeah I was shocked that Jabari was in the dunk contest because I thought he didn’t have much ups but I was pleasantly surprised.

Jabari is very good and imo is the Melo to Wiggins Lebron. Kid really does have every intangible you want from a player in the book.

I didn’t get the chance to watch Jam fest. So I looked it up on Youtube and HMT put this up, but I wanna see it in it’s entirely.

Several of the dunks were definitely underscored.. I thought Aaron Gordon’s TRUE double pump was a ridiculously good dunk for any level.. and for high school? Should have been 10’s across the board.

I was pissed I didn’t get to see it last night. They were airing college baseball instead of Jam Fest. Thank God for DVR though. I just recorded the later showing. Sounds like it was definitely worth watching.

How many people were annoyed by Jalen Rose? He just kept saying dumb random things. The random “Warm powerade tastes like kool-aid” line made put the TV on mute.

Underscored dunks that were amazing killed the contest. Had Wiggins completed that dunk where he took the ball under both legs the would have had to shut down the building because just looking at the attempt made people go crazy.

The way Wiggins makes dunks look easy is amazing. The fact he was doing these dunks off of a drop step was crazy. Another surprise was seeing Jabari Parker in the dunk contest. Chris Walker is going to be ESPN top 10 plays a lot next year!

Where were the Kentucky players?? Surprised not one of them were in the events,
