Are both Bates and Duren eligible for the 2021 or 2022 or 2023 draft?

Bates reclassified and is eligible. Not sure about Duren but I’m pretty sure he’s also eligible. It should be interesting to see how Duren develops, he needs to improve his free throw shooting but the rest of his game is alot like Bam Adebayo, and he’s another Montverde Kid.

Bates won’t be 19 until Eligible 2023. Duren is eligible next year, even though he turn 19 during the calendar year. People in Memphis r Beyond excited by adding Jalen Duren. Before the news the Tigers were rated in the 30s. Now some services have them as high as 15. And if they get Bates their Ranking might be in the Top 10! The City will be Lit 🔥 like it was during the Title run in 2008. But The Tigers r desperate for a playmaker. It seems every team that wins or goes far in the Tournament have top notch point guard play.

Duren reclassifying certainly adds a bit of depth to next year’s draft. He’s been a hyped prospect for a few years now and has an NBA ready build and insane wingspan so teams will be all over him if he is anything like the hype. He could even challenge Chet Holmgren for top spot over the NCAA season.

Bates likewise makes 2003 draft much stronger and has the potential to go first. I haven’t seen much of him but to be compared to KD he must be pretty special.

A couple of bigs are coming out of the Philly area in the next two drafts. Duran looks solid and Dereck Lively might be a better version of Evan Mobley. Lively is out of Norristown playing at the Westtown academy. Same route as Cam Reddish.

As far as I know the nba age limit is still 19 yrs old. I know there was a proposal to lower it to 18 a few years back but I haven’t actually heard anything about that being finalized. Unless something has changed that I am unaware of, it would seem neither bates nor duren will be eligible for the 2022 draft, as neither will have reached the age of 19 by than.

Is the age limit attached to the CBA? Players have to be given notice and it would be only fair so colleges knew over a year out so they could adjust their recruitment.

I always wonder how many gus would have gone straight to the NBA as the last year HS Seniors could be drafted only Andrew Bynium in 1st round was a HS guy I think. Durant and Oden would likely have gone straight to NBA the next year but it does make you wonder how fortunes would have changed if some players had come to the NBA a year earlier.

Whats everyones thoughts on Damion Collins? Doesn’t seem to be on anyones draftboards but has some nice YouTube highlight reels. Seems to have some perimeter skills at 6’10 7’5 wingspan and is a freak athlete.

I like Collins alot and think he could be a late lottery to mid 1st round pick as soon as this year, but if he stayed longer could be in contention for #1 pick. His style of play actually reminds me of Anthony Davis.

I think he’s a lottery pick whenever he enters. 7’5 wingspan, 40 inch vert and can shoot and dribble. Plus he’s going to Kentucky so the exposures gonna be there. He’s probably this years Patrick Williams or Scottie Barnes.
