Skeating12345ParticipantBetween his freshman and sophomore years at NC State, TJ Warren lost 15-20 pounds and really slimmed down, and his body looked much better. The weight loss clearly helped his game a ton. He wasnt able to bang in the post as much, but he was quicker, faster, and could defend better. He ended up winning ACC POY and will probably be a top 20 pick in this years draft.
Does anyone else think Jabari should do what TJ did? He wont be able to bang in the post as much, but it will help him drasticallly with regards to guarding on the perimeter. What do yall think?

BallinmvpParticipantI’m pretty sure whatever team drafts Jabari will team him to lose some lbs. he is just too big at 250. I think if he gets down to 230 he will be a monster.

Memphis MadnessParticipantWell, I hear that the Grizzlies take TJ Warren 100% if he is on the board.
Not sure what Jabari Parker is doing.
Maybe he wants to fall to Utah at 5, OR to the Celtics/Lakers at 6/7.
Jabari doesn’t know what he is. That is a RED FLAG.
He showed up FAT to the Cavs’ workout? What the heck?
Did Jabari have any GOOD workouts?
Maybe it’s all muscle…
Or not.

imAboutDatActionParticipantstop it.
That video everyone is talking about shows nothing.
He’s still out of shape. Umbelieveable that you dont believe the 250 weight but go ahead and make up how much he’s lost.

so unless he had rolls of quarters in his pockets and ankle weights, he is over weight

Memphis MadnessParticipantHe should try to become the best SMALL FORWARD he can be.
The NBA’s Final Four had these guys starting at small forwards: LeBron, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Kevin Durant.
Pure power forwards on those top four teams: Umm, David West.
Bosh plays center, Serge Ibaka also plays center (as well as the 4), with Durant and LeBron playing some stretch four. Boris Diaw is an overweight point forward who also plays center. Rashard Lewis played "the other forward spot" next to LeBron and just chucked 3’s. Shane Battier, Udonis Haslem, and Matt Bonner barely saw the court. Nick Collison is a "true" power forward but sometimes he was the fourth or fifth big man for OKC.
The best "stretch four" at times in the Finals was Kawhi Leonard. He is not a big guy but he used his quickness, first step, length, and tenacity on the glass to beat up the Heat. The Spurs used a big man at center, Kawhi at 4, and then 3 shooters/passers on the perimeter.
Jabari Parker need to try to be the best SMALL FORWARD he can be. Yeah, work on your post moves and explosion then use his height, length, smarts, and skills to move over to power forward at times, going against less-skilled bigs. I don’t think he has to be 255 to post up "stretch four options" like Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Paul Pierce, Harrison Barnes, or even Carmelo Anthony and Rudy Gay. … out-quick and outsmart less athletic power forwards, then on defense hide out on centers who have NO moves or just guard the small forward.

For_Never_EverParticipantHe ended up actually being 6’9 in shoes. I think he was likely around 260lb in college, and now is around 240lb. I don’t see the problem with it Carmelo is 6’8 240lb, Paul Pierce is 6’7 240lb and Lebron James is 6’8 250lb.

imAboutDatActionParticipantHis college weight was 240.
Stop making up things to help him look better.
You bringing up Lebron is laughable. Use the eye test. Lebron’s 250 is completely different than Jabari’s. Not all weight is the same. Some carry more muslce mass, while others carring more fat.
Jabari is carrying alot of fat. If you cant see a problem then LOLOLOLOL

Robb_CParticipantCoach K needs to start taking strength and conditioning a little bit more serious over at Duke.. Lots of these kids that come out of Duke can barely bench and have high bodyfat counts.

aramboneParticipantHe’s probably going to end up a 260 pound PF like Randle will, and the 240 number from college was probably phoney.
The good news is that we know he can move fairly athletically at 250 pounds. It’s no wonder his perimeter defensive agility wasn’t that great.
All the fantasies that Jabari will be a 240 pound small forward are misguided, based on the erroneous Duke weight number of 240 lbs. That ship has sailed, and he’ll be at 260 within a year, whether he wants to or not.
But it’ll probably be a strong 260, and he’ll be like a more skilled version of Randle.
