It’s been pretty quiet on the Jabari Parker front these days….. and the highly talented / oft-injured forward could be running out of options.

There’s only a couple of teams that have cap space remaining, and none of them are particularly amazing fits. 

Does he stay with Milwaukee? I hope so…. but both sides don’t appear to be head-over-heels for each other. 

Where I’d like for him to land? Three (3) come to mind;

• Kings – They don’t have a pick next year, and can afford the risk for a player of Parker’s talent. Would be really intrigued if he landed here, even with a loaded front court. 
• Sixers – His talent would add a ton of diversity to Philly’s offensive attack next to Simmons & Embiid. If healthy, could be a beautiful fit next to those two.
• Miami – This would have to be a sign and trade. But Miami is great about rehabbing players value who are either perpetually injured, or out of shape and have trouble with conditioning. Spo could help maximize his potential

 Kings are very high on Justin Jackson, i doubt Bari lands there. Justin has started written all over him. Sixers are a good fit, but honestly would him and saric work!? Who would start!? I like him in Chicago though.

But from a pure fan-boy perspective, I’d rather see Jabari flourish in Sac-town than Justin Jackson. They’re actually the same age & I just feel that Parker’s upside on offense is significantly higher. Jackson more on defense, for certain. The Bagley fit makes it complicated…. especially on defense. But they could be exciting.

Curious why you like Chicago. I know he’s from the area & flourished at Simeon High School. But Lauri Markkanen had a really nice showing last season…. and unless we’re talking about Jabari playing backup PF, I don’t see any way those two co-exist on defense while sharing the floor together. "Turnstile" would be putting it nicely.

 Justin Jackson is stoping the Kings from getting a player. His upside is decent starter. He’s most likely a guy that you play till you find a better player. Not trying to slam him, just don’t see massive upside. Parker is risky, but the type of high upside type guy the Kings should go after.

As for the Bulls question, I don’t see Parker as PF only and in todays NBA he’s a perfect small-ball PF anyway.  I don’t think he makes sense for the Bulls though. Continue the rebuild, but the Kings don’t have their pick next year and won’t attract good max level free agents. Roll the dice. Maybe a 2-3 year deal.

 Jabari should stay in the East. Try to find a rebuilding team, sign a mid level 2 year contract, with 2nd year player option. 

Atlanta seems like the best option. They young, and rebuilding anways. they can take a chance on him. They will need a secondary scorer. Not really sure who the 4/5s are for the Hawks. Parker can possibility get a lot of playing time. Put up some empty numbers lol. If he does well this season, he can opt out and sign a bigger deal next season or find a playoff contender.

 I completely agree with this. A team that is currently rebuilding should have no problem giving Parler any amount of money through 3 or 4 years. Worst case scenerio everything you invested in has to sit out with injuries and you bottom out and stockpile assets while waiting for Lebron to retire and Golden State to self destruct. Parkes talent and potential is in that elite tier and I truly think he would be a top 10 player if not for injuries.

 I would love to see him in a Heat uniform. I don’t think it will happen though unless they still believe in Whiteside.

I think he needs a change of scenery.But I think he remains in Milwaukee. They gave him a qualifying offer and can match any offer. Which might scare off some teams. Chicago has been rumored to be interested, he’s from there.

The Buck will match any reasonable offer and he’s to much of a risk for a team to make an unreasonable offer. He’ll be a Buck next year but he might take the qualifying offer and become an UFA next year.

 Agreed, he and Marcus Smart look like qualifying offer guys. He stays healthy, reminds everyone he has elite offensive potential, and tries harder on defense and he’ll get some offers in a much better market next year.

 With all the one year deals flying around I’m surprised no-one has made him an offer. But if the Bucks have tended him a qualifying offer then a team has to offer him a multi year deal I think as the same thing happened with Jimmy Butler at Chicago.

If someone could clarify this then I’d appreciate it as it would clear up what length of contract he could have and thus his likely landing spots.

The Hawks, Nets and Bulls seem most likely suitors. Kings have cap space but have a loaded frontcourt playerwise. Other teams have trade exceptions but it would take them into luxury tax level.

I don’t think the Nets or Hawks will really put in money beyond 2018-19 this summer. I think they both feel they will have cap room in July 2019, and have another lottery pick (Atlanta probably two) with which to support their FAs-to-be. Chicago probably is handcuffed because of the uncertainty of what it might cost to keep Zach LaVine. Paying more than one guy with iffy injury histories on projections of future potential is asking for problems.

Phoenix? I think he’d make a great addition to the Ayton, JJax and Booker combo, and JJax could cover him defensively somewhat. He’d also make a versatile pairing with either Bender or Chriss if they are still in the rotation.

Another option..how about Toronto? Wouldn’t he help get them over the hump?

Finally…Cleveland. Not a great fit defensively with Love, BUT… if Love is gone, you are going to need someone to take shots. He could play nicely with the group of Hood, Hill and Nance.

 I think Toronto already got over the hump. If they cant win the East with Lebron out West they need to begin the rebuild. Its between them and Boston imo.

The way the market seems to be playing out, I look to take the qualifying offer from the Bucks for 1 year and prove to the NBA that I’m healthy.
Could put him in good stead for a big contract as a UFA in 2019.

 The Nets have talked about trying to get two max level FAs next summer but that is easier said than done and other teams will have better teams to make pitches around.
