NCarmean18ParticipantI just wanted to make a quick note and say just how bad I feel for this kid. He has been heavily praised since early in his high school days, and he played rather well for the Bucks as a rookie early on in the season.
With Milwaukee playing extremely well (for the Bucks) and looking like a mid-bottom tier playoff team, I feel extremely bad for Jabari Parker for having to miss the rest of the season with his torn ACL. The playoffs would have been an amazing atmosphere for this young guy to play in during his rookie season in the NBA. He would have gotten a lot of experience, and felt what it was truly like to play in the NBA’s postseason tournament.
I know that Jabari will come back strong next year and that with Jason Kidd leading this team – the Bucks can be good for the foreseeable future. I cannot wait to see Jabari Parker in the playoffs, and I wish him the best in a full and speedy recovery.

Lotto StudParticipantHopefully he doesn’t end up with a Grant Hill track record.

Jr. ROXASParticipantYea, I feel just as bad for the guy. I’m one of the biggest Jabari fans out here and it’s just sad he had to tear his ACL. He was just proving doubters wrong the whooole season about his athletiscm. I believe at one point he was second to like Deandre Jordan in dunks. He just dunked everything and it was fun to watch. He actually looked as athletic as Wiggins during the season, no kidding well at least for me. Imagine a kid with that body, fluidity, athletiscm and handles, he was just bon to play basketball. Just hope he recovers well and comes back strong next year for another Bucks playoff push!

B-ball fanParticipantParker’s athleticism is so underrated. When he got injured, he was fifth in the NBA in dunks, after Jordan, Chandler, Anthony Davis and Drummond. He still has more dunks than Wiggins on the season despite having played only 738 minutes on the season vs. Wiggins’ 1829 minutes. Jabari still needs to polish his halfcourt scoring, but he makes a crazy number of athletic plays out there. I still believe he could be the best player to come out of the 2014 draft.

Magic JordanParticipantCan we pour something out for Julius Randles season too? I know all of us Laker fans were excited and then crushed again the first game of the season. I still think he can come back and be special.

mgreener_34ParticipantThe injuries to rookies and veteran players have been so hard to bare the past couple of years, and I hope they all can overcome the setbacks. On Jabari though, I think we can take a glass half full approach. When he was drafted, many people thought he would have to come in and play the Melo role of having to score 20ppg just to keep the Bucks in games. Obviously that isn’t the case, and having to sit back and watch his team make the playoffs without him is only going to humble him. He should view this year like a redshirt college player, and sit back, watch tape, learn the offense, and try to get his body in as good of shape as he possibly can. Next year should be his real rookie season, and he’s going to be so much better prepared than most

young waveParticipantIs it just me or have injuries stunted the potential of the current nba talent pool massively?

HitsterParticipantNext season with Jabari back plus Randle and Embiid will be great to watch. The Bucks have surprised many people this year as although we were saying it would be fun to watch Jabari and Giannis in tandem, none of us expected them to be in the play offs especially with Jabari out.
With so many of his team mates playing well above themselves, it takes some of the pressure off Jabari as he need not be seen as the franchise saviour and can develop his game steadily without being the go to man just yet.
As there are a load of Greek Freak fans on here, I noticed he is averaging 18.2ppg, 9.6rpg and 4apg over the last 5 games, those are fairly elite stats for someone only 20 and who was considered an SG in some quarters this year. He could be the sort of stats filler his Coach used to be minus a few assists of course.

IhateusernamesParticipantWhen Giannis and Jabari are 24 years old they will both have 5 years under their belt. I smell problems for the Eastern Conference.
Cleveland and Chicago better win something in the next 3 years or else.

sitlbitoParticipantScrew that “steal” formula for the draft. Giannis was an absolute robbery at 15,crazy to think in that exact same draft Gobert was taken….27th. Wow….

r377ParticipantNot including the game he got injured in but the Bucks were 12-12 with Parker, now they have gone 18-11 without him….

IndianaBasketballParticipantACL tears are scary… I still don’t think people realize just how serious the surgery is. Your knee is literally being reconstructed. Holes are being drilled and screws placed in your bone (to hold the new ACL graft in place until it fuses). Jabari has a long recovery ahead of him, but he’s young and will be fine. It’s just going to take time, both physically and mentally. It’s a two year injury, so he won’t be 100% until 2016-2017. His biggest adjustment will be mentally and trusting the knee. I expect his legs/core to be stronger than ever.
The biggest positive is that the Bucks were smart and had the Jordan of orthopedic surgery perform the surgery. Dr. Altchek is THE best to do it.

tuck243Participantinjury… Not actually recover more so losing the weight he gained from it.. I thought this year plus this off season would be crucial for his body and fitness. Then the ACL tore and now he will gain more weight. It sucks because I thought he could throw up double digits in points as a Junior in HS (yes I’ve believed that then). His weight fluctuates a lot and when he’s not able to work out it’s gonna get worse… I pray for both Randle and him because this sucks man.
