    Wow, just wow.

Words cannot express how bad his defense is.

He makes 2013-14 James Harden look like prime Ron Artest.

Awareness, effort, determination…….. he’s simply been an embarrassment on D. Even his supporters knew his defense was bad, but he’s a walking GIF / Meme every game he takes the court now.

Will he pull it together on that end of the floor?

Simply, no. I watched his porosity for years on that end as a Bucks fan. He put together one decent defensive game against the Cs in the playoffs, but that was it.

Just listen to his interview a few months back where he basically said defense doesn’t matter. I don’t think he’ll ever live up to the hype (part of that is due to injury, too).

Why is it that players that come into the league as defensive stoppers can become good 2-way players (like K Leonard) but players that come into the league as offensive players can’t?

It’s mostly effort based. Granted you need to have some level of awareness and instincts to be good on that side of the ball, but actively trying at it makes a huge difference. People who can score enough usually get a reprieve from trying to get better on that side of the ball. It’s sad

Well he’ll need to do something with his game or he could find himself a free agent again this summer. But after getting $20 million for this year and coming off a high rookie deal, he’ll not exactly be short of cash.

Who cares? The entire league is playing no defense. The Washington Generals gave a better defensive effort. At some point, guys like Parker who make it known they’re not going to be wasting time expending energy or effort at that end of the floor will be a commodity.

    He’s a visionary.

While he was at Duke, Jabari was the worst defensive player I saw ever, at any level of basketball.

at Any level – I’m even talking about Grade School or the local Rec league or the CYO teams or even pick up Playground ball

Even the game of Rough House!

Obviously not everyone can be a great or even good defensive player but you MUST Try!

No matter what Level if you played Basketball you Understand that at least Trying on Defense says a LOT about who you are as a Person b/c Defense is about "Want To!" – It’s a direct challenge of your courage

As in you might be better than me but I am Damn sure gonna Make you WORK to score on me! And Jabari Parker just does Not care even a little bit – JP does not even care enuf to Pretend!

What does it say about you as a man that you are a 6’8” 240 Lbs & you are nothing more than a big turnstiles wearing a team jersey? It is Maddening watching this guy on a Youn team at the beginning of a Rebuild trying to Establish an Identity!

How does Chicago Ever let this guy around their younger player???

No…he even said in his Bulls press confrence he doesn’t play D because it’s not sexy and doesnt’ make money. If I’m the Bulls I’m not picking up that 2nd year option.

The NBA has sent a lot of big men out of the league or to the bench who can’t keep pace and can’t guard anyone in the current game, Okafor, Asik, Mosgov, etc., etc. At some point guys like Parker are either going to find their way out the door, or everyone is going to see that they can get away with chucking on offense and relaxing on defense and they’re going to join in.

So far, it looks like that latter is winning out this season.

If I was in charge of the Bulls, I’d cut Parker today and eat the remainder of his salary and then send out a press release that detailed his lack of effort at the defensive end of the floor just to send a message. You’re not winning with or without Parker and ultimately, that would do the franchise more good long term than anything Parker is going to do this year in uniform.

But, that’s not where the league is headed right now. It’s a new day and teams are more interested in finding player who can chuck a three in less than four seconds than a player who has a spine.
