    Injuries are major especially in the offseason so I definitely hope it was non-basketball related.

    Judging by the look of it, he tore his meniscus.

    Its just asshame this guy got hurt during an extended offseason…If one this were one of the the top 5 guys in the league it would be a bigger NEWS story…

    Somebody else is going to get hurt during this Lockout,playing games they damm well should not be playing…

    Think about all the Money these players stand to lose if they injure themselves and during some stupid pick up game(JR) or overseas(Insert Player Here, it’s going to happen)

    If one of the Big Guys go down(LBJ,KD,Melo,Cp3,Rose,Kobe,Dirk) it may scare alot of players off to playing these unorganized games…

    Bottom line is this sucks for JR and Free Agency hopes, when he gets back he’ll be a bit limited and hopefully he takes this as a time to reflex on what kind of player he has to be to become successful when he returns…JR has the talent to have a big impact on the right team(Bulls,Knicks,Celtics) Someone is going to get him for a fair price when he gets healthy, he’s a guy that should not have been playing a lick a full court ball this offsseason…A leason learned for all…

    So what should they do? Sit on their couch till the lockout is over and get out of shape? I don’t blame players playing BBall outside of NBA because this is what they do for a living and you must keep your game sharp while the league is in a lockout. Yes, one these players will get injured, but beats staying at home getting out of shape, or doing other stupid things.

    @mess.eee

    Yea, I agree. And if you look at the way Smith got injured, that could’ve easily happened during a workout drill or something.

    Injuries happen sometimes… They’re apart of basketball. Let’s just hope it’s not too serious. I highly doubt he tore an ACL or anything. I’ve seen Brandon Roy do that same thing, so I think it’s his meniscus. Hopefully, it’s just a partial tear.

    in fact tell all the Free Agents and players under contract to put their careers in jeapordy by participating in unorganized events,charity games and international "D Leagues", if your Life is Basketball then preserve it longr than this lockout…JR probally wishes he never took part in that day’s event,,,
