    Scoring 30+ plus points 4 outta his last 7 games and averaging 26 ppg in his last 15 off the bench, has JR Smith locked up the 6th Man of the Year award?

    Also all while Melo has been on a tear too

    Not to mention, NYK is on an 11-game win streak. They’re hot at the right time, they need to carry this to the playoffs.

    Through out the season its been a 3 man race between –

    1. Jamal Crawford
    2. J.r smith
    3. Jarret Jack

    As the season is winding down j.r smith has picked up his play and stayed hot while Crawford and jack has cooled down. So this late stretch will determen who will will but it looks like its j.r smith award to lose.

    I hope JR does win it, it should help him come to terms with his role as a 6th man if he gets some recognition for being the best at it; plenty of well-respected and accomplished players have won the award and been vital cogs of playoff teams.

    It would come as a reward for a season where he’s reined himself in, stayed more or less out of trouble and been productive.
