The commercial appeal says Iverson accepted the Grizzlies offer? I think they will be a playoff team with Iverson do yall think they have a playoff chance? And what do yall expect from Iverson at Memphis?

I don’t think they have any shot. 7 teams from last years Western Conference playoffs are pretty much locks again this year. With only Houston slipping out because of injuries. I think Phoenix and LA Clips will fight for one of the 8 spots. OKC will be hovering around too. Memphis has talent but 4 of their best players (including AI) like to dominate the ball. There isn’t going to be much movement. A lot of one pass and shoot and isolations.

Let the destruction begin…I mean continue. What’s funny to me is that before the season was over I kept thinking to myself that Iverson would go to a bad team and sign a one year deal for an owner that just wanted to sell tickets. I was really hoping that he was going to end up in LA with Baron Davis and Zach Randolph. As things happen to go, he still ends up with Zach Randolph. I feel sorry for all the young guys on that team and their fans. Sure they may have some more highlights and they will probably have an all star this year, but they are not going to be much better and at the same time, their growth is going to get stunted. Besides, how do they really get to figure out if conley is the point guard of the future if he’s probably only going to get 10-12 minutes a game?

Wow… Rudy Gay, OJ Mayo, Allen Iverson and Zach Randolph all fighting for shots. What a fun season it will be down in Memphis.

No way they make the playoffs. Memphis did this to solely sell tickets. You cant have a team that consists of Mayo, Gay, Randolph, and Iverson and expect to make the playoffs. All of those guys are number 1 options. Not enough shots to go around. I love Iverson though and im happy that i will get to see him play next season

Yea, should have saved the money and not hired another guy who’s going to need a lot of shots. I can’t believe they acquired Zach Randolph and Allen Iverson… how does that make any sense? It seems like they’re trying to stunt OJ and Rudy’s development… I don’t think Randolph or AI is the long-term solution, but both might help the Grizz move further down in the lottery? dumb… not that it matters where they are, they’ll screw it up, if the selection of Thabeet is any indication of how bad they are at drafting.

Its not like AI is going to be there for a long time he will only be there for a year and Randolph will only be there for two. I think its a good move Memphis gets fans excited and they have the most talented lineup they have ever had and they finaly get a chance to win some games and Iverson gets to prove that he is still a very good player. Sure they have been selfish with the ball before but Allen, KG, and Pierce were to and that worked out pretty good. It would stunt there growth more if they were losing all the time so it gets OJ and Rudy a chance to win more games and that can only help.

KG was never selfish. The knock on him before was that he was too unselfish. Allen never had a rep of being selfish either and he played well with other good scores in Cassel and Glenn Robinson in Milwaukee and Rashard Lewis in Seattle. Pierce was selfish but he realized in order to win he had to change his game.

Your comparing 3 FHOF to 1 FHOF, 2 young guys who havn’t grown into their game yet and havn’t accomplished anything and 1 guy who never won anything despite always being #1 or 2 option for every team he was on.

Loosing doesn’t stunt your growth. Continuing to not play the game the right way stunts your growth.

I like this move and now Memphis has a legit close out guy to finish games. People forget that Memphis was in a lot of games in the 4th quarter but could not finish games. AI knows how to finish games. Also this allows OJ to play more Point guard. I think people are looking at this from only the negative angles. AI being on the floor if he can pass the ball a lil bit more could help both Gay and Mayo. Melo played some good games with AI but they just did not do well in the playoffs but scoring wise in the regular season they were pretty good. AI and Gasol should work well with each other because Gasol can pass well so I can see AI scoring a lot off of cuts and backdoors.

…this marks the end of Iverson being voted to the All-Star game as a starter. He didn’t deserve it last year.

Nope, look at the matchups! Factor in the youth uh oh, a young team hungry to win beats a smart but flat and old Spurs team.

The Grizz have no “powerful” coaches or front office people.

Iverson’s gonna start? He and Z-Bo will take control of the shot and each will at least average 15-22 a piece. I gurantee it.

    You wanna sell tickets….you won

You wanna have the young kids develop and grow…..you lost IMO

Plus, there not the 8 or 7th best team in the West

i dont know how this will work
it could be a positive as they have a number of great talents
it could be a negative as all those talents need the ball to be effective, expect maybe randolph cause he can rebound
