MIKE DUNLEAVY RESIGNED
3 questions:
1) Does LA make the playoffs this year?
2) Who is the next coach?
3) What will be the response of the players?

SwatLakeCityParticipantNew coaches,
Just thoughts, not actual news I have heard
Maybe Avery Johnson, Ty Corbin from Utah, Lawrence Frank, Jeff Vangundy, maybe Coach K from Duke.0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/04/2010 - 3:11pm #253167

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThey won’t make the playoffs, I doubt they pay the going rate to bring in a coach with a good track record, and the players are pros. They will respond to a change in style. If the interim coach lets Baron get out and run more, then maybe they’ll be a bit better.

sheltwon3Participantnot this year only because Memphis and OKC are the young teams to beat and LAC is missing Griffin.

sheltwon3ParticipantNow if only Don Nelson and some other in GSW can depart.

MuggsyParticipantSeems like we’ve been wanting Dunleavy gone for years…it’s finally upon us. This was a good decision. However, keep in mind this is LAC we’re talking about, sure he’s gone as Head Coach, but they hired him as their GM. So expect LAC to continue failing for years to come now that Dunleavy has an even higher position.

Mr. BasketballParticipant1) they have about a 1% chance of making the playoffs. That’ll only occur if they are extremely motivated by the new coach.
2) I think it will be one of the following: byron scott, mark jackson, kim hughes (interim head coach), flip saunders, or john lucas.
3) i think they will respond with better play due to a more uptempo style of play by hughes.

IndianaBasketballParticipantDunleavy has been the GM for a couple of seasons now… He took over in 2008 after Elgin Baylor resigned. Even before Baylor resigned, he was basically making the draft and personnel decisions.
He’s not a bad GM. He’s actually made some good moves.

MuggsyParticipantI already knew that. What I meant in my post was, eliminating him as coach is a start, but frankly I think he needs to go period.
