If hicks stays all 4 years will he be better than mcadoo? They remind me of each other with the aggressivness to dunk instead of laying it up, steals and can get out and not too bad of a jumper, anyone else see the same resemblances?

To be honest I dont think they are similar in style of play. I think Hicks is a bit more controlled within the offense. From what I can remember with Mcadoo he was wild and reckless. He had all the physical tools. He looked like a man among boys but he had no touch around the rim whatsoever. He had no post moves. Everything was just him trying to over power, over physical to get buckets. Low IQ guy. I was actually glad he left cause I knew Brice would develop and be more efficient. Hicks although not the freak athlete like Mcadoo is athletic enough. He’s developed this nice spin in the paint and baby hook or short jumper. I think he’s also a better defender than Mcadoo. He still has a long ways to go but if he stays for senior year he can be 1st team all ACC maybe even POY. Im still pissed Roy tried to play him at small forward his freshman year I think that hampered his development. In the pros though I think he’s gonna be the typical UNC journeymen you see nowadays ala Hansbrough, Ed Davis. Long career but always a backup or bench.

Similar players.  I think Hicks is more gifted offensively while McAdoo is more gifted defensively.  Hicks has an excellent combination of size, strength and leaping ability.  He is much more decisive offensively than JMM ever was.  However he fouls way too damn much on the defensive end.  I think thus far Hicks has left a lot to be desired on the glass as well, think he is a much more capable rebounder than we have seen at UNC.  His face up dunk on Sheldon Jeter of Pitt was man’s move.

I don’t believe Mcadoo and Hicks are anything alike.  In 3 years at Carolina, Mcadoo didn’t develop a single post move.  He had zero touch around the basket and was just a reckless player.  Mcadoo was a very good defensive player and maybe a little better athlete than Isaiah.  Hicks is a true post player with an array of nice moves and good touch around the basket.  As NCballer said, he fouls WAY too much.  He was in foul trouble basically all game against UVA last night.  Hicks needs to improve the most on the glass.  He needs to be next year what Brice was this year.  Brice basically took the mindset of if a shot is missed it’s MY rebound.  Isaiah has the capability to have the type of year next year Brice had this year.  Brice is a little bouncier than Isaiah, but Isaiah is still a great athlete that can jump.  Of course Mcadoo was one of the most dissappointing Carolina players in their illustrious history.  He was a lottery pick after his freshman year but never developed after that and ended up going undrafted after his junior year.  Isaiah is the much better BASKETBALL player while Mcadoo was probably the better athlete.
