Can he be the sixers starting pg of the future? He just lead the sixers to their second win without okafor playing at that. So my question is can he fill that void, is he the starter for the future or is he a filler until they draft their young pg or trade for /pay one?

Ish is almost as old as I am. I don’t see him improving much going forward. He is better than any other options they currently have but I don’t believe the Sixers PG of the future is on the roster as of now.

I’ll say that he can be a solid Stop Gap Pg IMO, he’s a fierry guy with a good handle and play making ability, I would love it if he became a Mike Conley lite but he’ll likely be a very good backup PG in the Sixers very near future(I’m getting a very good feeling that with Colangelo and D’Antoni in Philly they’ll be adding some talent on the Perimeter by way of the Draft Gods, I think we land the 2nd or 3rd pick and misss out on Ben Simmons, the Pelicans or Celtics may end up with him BUT I think we’ll get that Lakers Pick, I think we’re due for some luck in that area, than I think we’ll package some picks and move up for a Buddy Hield type SG, we’ll draft Ingram or Brown 2nd or 3rd, and follow that up with Murray or Dunn with the Lakers pick at 4…

No way does Ish Smith become the longterm PG if we land Murray or Dunn with that Lakers pick, Pelicans or Celtics will leap into the Top 3 I guarantee you all and the 76ers will have to walk away with multiple 1st Rounders, I would go nuts if we landed Brown, Dunn and Hield because they’d be instant starters and 1-3 with Noel and Okafor at the 4 and 5, Smith,Stauskas,Covington,Saric and Embiid would be their bench unit…

Im foaming at the mouth thinking about the 2016 Draft Lottery and Draft day scenarios

I hope he can be a starter for a while. Would be a lot of pressure of an incoming Rookie PG if he didn’t have to be a starter right away.

I’d commit to him with a 3-year deal. They clearly missed him he’s this team’s leader as sad as that may seem. Even after drafting Murray or Dunn he would be a great veteran backup guy. These guys need to committed to structure.

Especially when they were hoping to experiment w/ Noel at the PF spot & Okafor at the C position….. b/c they did not have a decent NBA level pg to start the season, Noel has really suiffered & regressed…..

I think Okafor is going to be a beast in the NBA…… but if they had it to do over again, w/ Noel at the "C/5 spot" & Embiid on his way back to health, Porzingus would have been a better choice in the 2015 Draft b/c they could have plugged him in at the PF spot & left him there for a decade…..

Embiid will end up as their starter at the C spot & Noel could fill at either spot as an excellent back up C/PF…. I know I’m off topic…. apologies… just spitballing….

Anyway, Ish looked good last night…. but I think the bigger factor was D’Antoni as co or asst coach….. Phila scored 110 points last night & they’ve barely averaged 90 a game…… I know the criticism of D’Antoni but the Sixers play Awful "in game" basketball…… & I think D’Antoni will be a welcome addition for Sixers fans…..
