FastAndFuriousParticipant23pts,10ast,8boards tonight
Seems like he’s the best rookie on the Kings, hardwork pays off!
Selected dead last in the draft!

rickyD510Participantdefinately outplayed kyrie for the majority of the game but Tyreke and Marcus thorton played absolutely horrible!

KayjayParticipantIT in his first two starts has more chemistry with Cousin’s than Tyreke has had playing with him going on two years now. Its evident Kings have a point guard (forreal this time). And Cousins most def will be one of the better big men of this league pretty soon. Evans and Thorton though…lord almighty. I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking one of them has to go. And seeing as how Evans isn’t exactly playing too well for his up and coming contract…I’d say we should put him on the trading block. I’m js…

KayjayParticipantYou know nothing about IT Chewy. The guy put up 11 assists tonight and ran the team better than anyone else has all year.

ChewyParticipanthas put up big numbers in individual games too, but no playoff contending team would want him to play big minutes for them. Isiah Thomas is the same. He is undersized for a pg which makes it even worse since he tries to play like a sg. I honestly think this guy has no buisness getting minutes in the league. You can’t trust him to run a team and he’s not good enough to have the shoot first mentality that he has. Just my opinion though.

BasketBalAllanParticipantYour totally correct, obviously height completley disqualifies a player from ever being an NBA player, i am sad the kings do not just spit in his eyes for holding a ball. And since he only had 11 assists he is certainly much to selfish to be a pg.

and1rodman91ParticipantGood for Isaiah, i know he works real hard and he took that last overall pick to heart and wanted to show the teams that passed on him what he’s all about. He definitely has some game as seen by those stats, hopefully the kings keep using him and get his confidence up.

FastAndFuriousParticipantAre you serious? You really think he shouldn’t get ANY minutes in the league????
0 - Posted on: Sun, 02/19/2012 - 3:47pm #638911
iminipandaParticipantYour comparing them based on size. Nate is a gunner. Isaiah is a passer. 5’9 scorers wont make it. 5’9 passers will.

c’mon craigParticipantnate has provided a spark for golden state off the bench. probably will never be a full time starter because he has a shoot first mentality at 5’9" but a great 6th or 7th man off the bench. been in the league 6 years(averages 11ppg for his career) so id say hes making it.

WizardofOzParticipantJust to think he was this close to not getting drafted.
He’s the steal of the draft. He’s really talented. And one thing that I’ve been impressed with is his confidence. He never seems to be rattled by the professionals. I wish the Wizards drafted him in the 2nd instead of Shelvin Mack.

ChewyParticipant2.5 assists and 1.5 tournovers per game. Just cuz he had 11 assists in one game doesn’t make him a great passer. That’s not a very good assist to tournover ratio. I’ve only seen the Kings play 3 times this year so I’m not gunna try and be an expert on them, but I have disliked how he plays in those games. He would constantly dribble the ball for 8-10 seconds of the shotclock and a lot of those times would get stuck on the baseline with nowhere to go, except back out to start the offense again (this time with only 12ish seconds left on the shot clock).
I definently think he should get SOME minutes for a non playoff team, much like the Kings, but is not good enough to get minutes on a team that makes the playoffs.
I based the comparison on height AND playing style. He looks for his shot first, second and then pass third.

B FreeParticipantFirst off his TO/A ratio is 2.06, and including todays game it is 2.3 which is better then Deron Williams, John Wall, Kyrie Irving, Brandon Knigh, Russel Westbrook, Jerey Lin, Dwayne Wade, Seth Curry, Joe Johnson, Chauncy Billups, Jrue Holliday and Kemba Walker.
And second I watched him play alot last year at Washington and he was basically the entire team, he did what he had to do to win, thats what all good college players do if they have to be the scorer they are, that doesn’t mean they are shoot first players.

llperezisaiah wasnt the entire team at washington at all, they had talent around him. BUt he was absolutely one of the best players in college and battled with derrick williams and klay thompson for best player in the pac 10 and i said before the draft that if he was 6 foot he would go lotto for sure. Glad to see him doing well.

ChewyParticipantReally? He has done alot of amazing things this year and I don’t want to bash him at all. He is playing at an amazing level, but he is averaging atleast 5 TOs a game during this stretch. In terms of strickly tournovers hes a terrible comparison, ofcourse IT doesnt have as many turnovers as Jermey Lin.
I completly agree he was amazing in college. His first two years his assist and tournover numbers sucked, but that was only because he was asked to be a sg and a scorer for them. His last year when he had to play pg in the later part of the season his assist numbers skyrocketed and averaged out to about 6 which is very good.
I just don’t think the way his plays translates into winning basketball in the NBA. I just feel he’s too ball dominate, average passer, and isn’t a rotation player on a playoff team.

B FreeParticipantI named 12 PGs and you decide to pull Lins name out to make your point, I just went down the list of guys he had a better ratio then.

NCarmean18ParticipantHow can you bash on a guy like Isaiah Thomas? The dude played exceptional basketball for Washington last season and was drafted dead last in the draft, so the guy obviously wants to go out and prove that he can play in the league and what does he do? Drops a double-double (23 points, 11 assists) and almost a triple-double as he added 8 rebounds as a 5’9" guard!
I do not know what it is with people on this site and taking away from young guys playing great ball games, but that isn’t right! One great game could be the spark plug to a successful NBA career. Will it happen with Isaiah? Maybe, but I believe you have to give credit where credit is do and give props to this guy for coming in and playing good team basketball and providing the Kings with an oppertunity to win.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantIf yall will remember, I made a post about him a long time ago taking Jimmer’s spot and making his claim to be the starting PG there..
Just a little horn tooting here.. Sorry..

PulseGlazerParticipantThomas has been great for the Kings. They still need to move a scorer/iso player or 3 to be a more well-rounded team, but this is a very good start. Next in the order of business for Sacto – free Honeycutt!
