AdamJCallejaParticipantNot too much buzz around him so far this season but man have I been impressed with him, especially on defense which I was not expecting at all. He has really quick feet and crazy length for a 6’3 guard, to go along with that incredibly strong frame of his, he truly causes havoc on the defensive end (Locked up Grayson Allen). On the offensive end, he’s always been a wiz with the ball. It seems like he can get to the cup any time he wants. It was crazy how he didn’t find gaps against the UCLA zone but he made gaps with his shifty dribbling (ball on a string). Jump shot is inconsistent especially spotting up but that’s an easy improvement. Not sure if he can be a starter in the NBA especially if he tries to play off the ball, but he looks like an NBA player for sure.

thetruth87ParticipantI got to see Isaiah play a lot when St. John’s was recruiting him, and I actually thought he would come to SJU (but that’s a story for another day).
While I do agree that he definetly has a future in the NBA, how bright that future will be will soley be dependent on him improving his jump shot. He lacks elite level athleticism, and explovsiveness to have a high impact on the NBA level without developing a consistent jump shot. He also lacks the lateral footspeed to be an elite defender in the NBA.
That being said though, he reminds me a lot of Deron Williams at his age. They are around the same size, and if you remember when Deron Williams first got to Illinois his jumper was inconsistent much like Briscoe’s now. Deron eventually found his stroke and became a very good catch and shoot option. If Briscoe finds his shooting stroke (no easy feat), like Deron did I could see him having a similar impact in the NBA. If not then I still think he has the playmaking skills, and aggresiveness to be a useful player at the next level.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantI’m actually not a fan of his. He plays a "street ball" style game that I do not like. Fancy dribbling and passing is good for Rucker Park not a real game. He is in between PG/SG positions so he is probably better suited for a bench role. Not a good shooter either at this point and I would not say that it is an "easy improvement". Some guys end up improving with practice and others not so much.
I do agree that he does play good defense and that he is really good at driving into the lane and getting to the basket. He’s got a lot of work to do to improve his shooting and trying to unlearn that undisciplined street ball style game he plays with if he wants to stick in the league. Also, not a huge deal but he was born in 96, so he should be a sophomore.

Jr. ROXASParticipantPlays like young Kyle Lowry, before he had the 3 pointer. Especially when Briscoe drives to the hoop, he reminds me so much of Kyle.

MatosParticipantHe relies a lot on his strength to bump defenders when driving to the basket, but he lacks the overall explosiveness/athleticism. He’ll need a jumpshot to give defenders a reason not to play back on him

NJHooper95ParticipantHe can get to the rim at will and is super strong, terrible free-throw shooter and inconsistent shooter. He is elite finsher like his relative and mentor Kyrie Irving, athough he is already and surprisingly a much better defender than Irving. Could be great off the bench and if he can find a jumper he could be a starter. By the way I LOVE his Rucker-esque game. Basketball is suppose to be entertaining and if you can enter and be effective ala Isiah Thomas, Kyrie Irving, Jordan, Tmac, Kobe , Jason Williams, Iverson, Old Derrick Rose, Vince and more then the game is better to watch.

IlladelphParticipantI’ve watched him play for Kentucky this year. He has NBA written all over him. His defense is excellent, his lateral speed is excellent, and he has a high motor. He can get to the basket at will and he is hard to stop because of his speed, and strength. He does not try to do too much, and plays within the flow of the game.
I heard the “street ball” criticism early in the season, and I think I saw Calipari reference it early on in an interview. I have not seen him play that way, in that he seems to be under control always, and does not over dribble, or take hero shots. He is an entertaining finisher though with his reverse layups and he switches hands in the lane really well.
I think that he goes in the lottery. His stock will only improve over time as he gets more and more exposure. And of course, it will help if Kentucky is dominant down the stretch. Kentucky is one of those teams that, if they have a great year and make it to the final four, could have four first rounders in Skal, Murray, Briscoe, and Lee. Either way, I don’t see Briscoe staying past this year and I think that wherever he goes in the draft he will have a solid NBA career.

losnopesosParticipantBriscoe is my favorite player on this UK team. He has a little bit of a shot selection problem but I’m pretty certain if Cal asked him to he could run through a brick wall. I look for Briscoe to be the guy to spark the team on defense, when UK has needed a TO so far this season, he was the one to force it.
