boshjonesfordParticipantIs this realstic (fair)? and good do you expect this Toronto Raptors team to be?
So recently theres meen a lot of rumors that point to the Raptors getting Steve Nash next season (even though other rumors indicate he’ll play for a championship contender – he has stated that he doesnt nessesarily want to case rings and recently became the GM of team Canada)
Trade – Ed Davis (young PF that may be able to replace Zac) +8th Pick + Jose Caldaron (very good contract because he is a 10+ mil expiring and he is a very servicable player with the highest A/TO ration in the NBA) + James Johnson (young SF with good potential)….Total Salary = 17 Mil apx
For – Rudy Gay + 25th pick…..Total Salary = 17 Mil apx
After this transaction (since cash balanced out) Toronto Still has the most money to spend this offseason..so sign Steve Nash and Ray Allen and bayless (once quoted that Toronto was one of his favorite cities)
PG – Steave Nash/ Bayless
SG – Demar Derozan/ Ray Allen
SF – Rudy Gay / Linas Kliza
PF – Andrea Bargnani / Amir Johnson
C – Jonas Valanciunas/

joshinator1ParticipantI thought you were fine until you said sign allen I just don’t see that happening and you would have to remove the 25th pick I think it is fair that way

NiceWithTheRockParticipantIt’s not a bad idea. The Raps would be killer with Nash hitting Demar and Rudy on the break. In fact that whole starting 5 and bench can run with Bargnani being Dirk-lite. Since the draft is so deep you can still get a high upside player like Wroten, Miller etc. I don’t know if it’s possible that Memphis does the deal tho.

boshjonesfordParticipantThere was an ariticle back when VC was in Toronto where ray allen stated that Toronto is one is favorite cites, i remember that expecitly because arent that many good players that speak highly of toronto (even though it is a great city), if nash, rudy gay along with bargnani are on board is it too farfethed to assume that Ray Allen could be a possiblity for the raptors….if not you can replace ray with another compitant player (I think that team is good with or without ray allen

DipoTimeParticipantI could see them giving a bloated contract to Jodie Meeks.. Good fit though and he’s younger and more likely than Allen

CavsFan07ParticipantNot saying that trade would ever happen, because I’m not sure Memphis makes that trade unless someone’s their at #8 they are in love with.
BUT
The starting 5 you projected looks like a damn good team.

PulseGlazerParticipantI could see it to an extent if Memphis flame out. Gay shoots too much when the offense should go through the bigs and Memphis is perilously close to the cap. They could save some cash with this, so maybe, but I’d still expect to see a third team involved to take Calderon.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantgasol and z bo should be the 2 main weapons on o and at times rudy just hogs the ball and forces up terrible shots i said last year when he was hurt and the grizz made that run they needed too trade him

BouncyBallParticipantAll of these trades/signings deffinately could happen and if Toronto could pull this off it would be great for the city, but I just can’t see it happening. The Raptors will stick to their long term plan of building up a good core from the draft.

DurantsWingspanThat would be a damned good team. The chemistry would be unbelievable once they got used to each other because they all balance out eachothers strengths and weaknesses. With Jonas you got your big downlow and with bargnani you got the big to space the floor with Nash hitting him for open threes and Nash hitting Valanciunas down low for easy buckets. then you have him running the fast break with DeRozan and Gay. I think that would be a crazy team. Maybe not win it or anything, but damned fun to watch.
