TyrekeJonesParticipantThere are three players who could potentially get chosen number one on draft day and those players are Derrick Williams, Enes Kanter and Kyrie Irving. At this point, any one of those guys could be picked by Cleveland with their first pick. I cannot really remember a time where there has been so many questions surrounding players who have a shot to be chosen first overall.
Kyrie Irving- was not able to play a full college season, performed very well in the beginning of the season and after coming back from his toe injury, in my opinion did well in the NCAA tournament. People question him being injury prone, they also say not having a full season of college under his belt is a problem and he did not play enough during the year for him to have a chance to be picked first overall. People question his athleticism and say it is not elite enough to hang with guys like Parker, Wall, Rose, or Paul.
Derrick Williams- made major improvements from his freshman to sophomore year, had a consistent very productive season and was an absolute monster in the NCAA tournament. He has said he is going to be a small forward in the NBA and thats where the critiquing began. Can he make the transition from power forward to small forward? Can he shoot the ball well enough from outside, can he keep up with the likes of Pierce, Melo and Lebron? Can he play on the perimeter and be able to get by his defender.
Enes Kanter- has been playing pro basketball since a very young age and was put on the map after an incredible Nike Hoop Summit Game. Videos leaked from high school and people are saying his did not show interest and did not play defense, had no fire or passion for the game of Basketball. He has not played organized basketball in awhile due to the NCAA deeming him ineligible to play because of him accepting money as an amatuer.
On a normal occasion, there has really never been so many questions or doubts with the players with the chance of being picked with the number one spot, I mean of course there are always going to be doubts and weaknesses to those players games, it just seems this year is a lot more doubt and skepticism then usual. What are your thoughts?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantTo the best of my knowledge..There are several drafts when there were 3 guys that could’ve been the Top Pick..In a few drafts the team selecting number waited until the day of the draft to let it known who’ll be the top pick…Becuz they had a hard time choosing between 3 or 4 guys …
1999-Elton Brand,Steve Francis,Baron Davis & Lamar Odom..Alot of people were expecting the Bulls to select Odom with the 1st pick…
1995-Joe Smith,Antonio McDyess,Jerry Stackhouse & Kevin Garnett ,alot of teams loved Garnett and felt he had the most potential out of all the prospects, but they were afraid to use the top pick on a high schooler back then…
1991-Larry Johnson,Dikembe Mutombo,Billy Owens & Kenny Anderson ..
1982-James Worthy,Terry Cummings & Dominique Wilkens…
1989-Pervis Ellison,Danny Ferry & Sean Elliott…Can you name a draft that had 2 career backups like Ellison and Ferry go 1 and 2?

TyrekeJonesParticipantSorry I was unclear in my question, I realize there have been several drafts with three guys potentially being chosen first, what I meant to be the main question was there seems to be so much doubts and questions about the three players being considered in this case, moreso then any time I can remember, a lot of people have their own specific skepticism on each of those three guys that I listed for different reasons.
And off of memory I cannot list a draft that had two career backups go 1 and 2 for we both know that is pretty uncommon.

ilike.panochasParticipantA GM would be a fool to take Kanter #1 overall. The guy has so many question marks (level of competition, nearly 2 years of inactive basketball, and speculations about knee issues?). His measurable isnt exactly off the charts either (6’10 w/ 7’2 wingspan, average athleticism). He is skilled for his size, but it doesnt outweight his question marks to be chosen #1.

iguapops420ParticipantKanter actually did much better athletically than expected and from what I’ve read the knee issues have been put to rest as well. Honestly, If I were making the selection I’d prolly actually go Kanter #1 simply based on what I KNOW he can do and what he may be able to improve on. Kyrie could end up a career backup or boom, same goes for Williams. With Kanter though, I feel you’re almso guaranteed a 15-10 type with potential to end with Kevin Love type numbers. Just one man’s opinion but I prefer Al Horford downside to Luke Ridnour or Marvin Williams.
