Is it just me or has John Wall become more explosive after his injury? He has a very very quick first step, and is soo fast, he basically plays in another gear from everyone else. He really showcased his athleticism today VS Milwaukee. Is it safe to say that he’s up there with Derrick Rose and Westbrook as one of the league’s fastest players?

I’ve always considered him to be just as fast as those two… it’s definitely a valid statement imo.
There are tons of highlights on youtube where Wall gets the ball and takes 4 or sometimes just 3 dribbles to go the length of the court and lay it up.

have you seen a lot of john wall? he has always been this quick. he is just getting his speed and quickness back. westbrook and rose have elite speed but wall has always had that and been a little more overlooked because the rose and westbrook have found who they are earlier in their career. watch wall next year and i believe he shortens the gap some between using his quickness and speed towards his play of a westbrook and a healthy rose.

You know why Michael Jordan was so hard to stop? The refs enabled him to palm the ball and double dribble all of the time. He was also very adept at getting away with taking extra steps. Sorry Jordan fans, its just the truth. Its true for alot of stars. Good business for the NBA to have stars.

I don’t think that that was THE reason that Michael Jordan was so hard to stop. It may have contributed, but so did his freakish athleticism among other things.

Larry Bird was legit. He didn’t do any of that to any noticeable extent.

Stuff like that is really easy to see on TV but when you are officiating a game it is much harder to see I do not believe in your NBA conspiracy theory.

Wall’s playmaking has impressed me this season, he’s really impacting his team in a good way.. But his jumpshot is not good.. I honestly thought he would score a bit more this season even if he was injured for a major part of the season.

I don’t think he’s faster than before. To be honest I’ve never been a fan of him cause he only had one gear – full speed. I realised he now really slows down the game at times and this gives his game a new level. He creates space to catch his opponent on the wrong foot. The last two years he was always trying to outrun or outdribble the defenders.

I have to give him probs so far. He has regained the confidence in his body and plays with an attitude. What is still a work in progress is consistency and a reliable outside shot but he is getting better.

Good to see him back as a matured version of himself.

    John Wall = Fast

    Rose/Westbrook = Athletic

I’m pretty sure that’s always been the difference.

i would like to see westbrook try to do a behind the back in mid air dunk off a fast break like wall has done before. wall is fast, strong and has hops. just needs to improve his shot.

Are you talking about a reverse dunk ? C’mon on now, Westbrook could do that easily.

if i was talking about a reverse dunk i would have said reverse dunk. i wasn’t born yesterday, everyone on this site better know what a reverse dunk is. i specifically said behind the back in mid air dunk and chose my words carefully. it was an unchallenged dunk, but still impressive if you ask me. i’m not sure if westbrook could do it or not. i would like to see him try. that’s all i was saying. not everyone can pull that dunk off.

My bad with the douchebag remark. I was saying it jokingly to my friends eayler, I kinda didn’t mean it to come off that way. Saying curtain things online doesn’t fit that context.

as a user responding to a guy that posts as much videos as you do, i felt i was pretty specific but maybe i came off rude. i also understand wanting to put a phrase in to use even if it’s a negative phrase meant to be funny. i commend you for admitting you were wrong name calling and apology accepted. (computer hand shake) no worries, not taking it personally. you have to admit though that it is a difficult dunk to pull off. and i stand by my statement, i would like to see westbrook attempt a behind the back in mid air dunk.

Cool bro. Thanks. I really didn’t mean to come off the way it did. I normally say offensive things to my friends, but doing it online without knowing the person doesn’t work.

He has looked more explosive as the year has gone on. He was injured at the start of the season and i think the better his fitness gets the better he will play.

Next season will be telling (especially if he doesn’t get injured like he did this season.

    Wall is faster then Rose.

Probably the 2 fastest guys in the NBA are Wall and Lawson.

After that I’d say Westbrook, Rose, Parker, Beabuois, Harris.

Apparently Devin Harris is the fastest guy in the NBA with the ball according to the Guinness World Record.

Pretty sure Lebron is on that list.

As for the comment about Jordan double dribbling, palming and traveling.
I don’t think guys double dribble much really they definitely palmed the ball though.
Traveling they won’t call on stars unless its so obvious and even then they call it on big men more and not in crunch time.

Devin Harris? That record has to be at least 4 years old, but back in the day he was pretty fast, but it’s sad his quickness went away to quickly and early.
