Has Giannis Antetokounmpo reached the point where the Bucks simply would not trade him for anyone (Save for LeBron, KD, and Paul George)?

I don’t know if he’s safe from anyone (I doubt the Bucks would turn down an offer of Blake Griffin, Steph Curry, Anthony Davis, etc.) but at this point you’d have to give up a ton to get him from Milwaukee.

He is absolutely not untouchable. I know he is a freak athlete with freakish measurements, but I do not see how Milwaukee would not trade him if they are offered another high draft pick this year (somewhere in the top 5) or for a solid, young, borderline-ish allstar. I think realistically his ceiling is somewhere around Nick Batum with a worse jumpshot…. I really do not see the hype with him other than his physical gifts and solid overall versatility… The reality is his big hands will do nothing but hurt him in terms of developing into a consistent shooter, and he is still flat out raw. There really is no gurantee that he will ever become an offensive force in the league. They would be foolish not to trade him for other allstars like Love, Wall, Curry, Holiday, Davis, Aldrige, Griffin, Harden, and etc….. Giannis has alot to improve on before he can be "untouchable" from a trade involving guys other than Lebron, KD, and PG.

I think for all intents and purposes, he’s untouchable.  The only way Milwaukee trades him is if it they’re offered a young player who’s pretty much a guaranteed All-Star (Griffin, Anthony Davis, etc.), and no team out there is going to offer that, so in that sense, he’s untouchable.

I think they’d potentially consider a young stud plus an early first round pick (ex: Oladipo and the Magic’s 1st round pick this year), but even that I’m not really sure about.

I think they’d be foolish to simply trade him for an early 1st round pick alone.  If Giannis were in this year’s draft, he’d most likely be taken somewhere around the 3-5 range anyways, so you really wouldn’t be gaining anything by trading him for a high pick.

I really do not see how it could be possible for Giannis to go 3-5 in this years the draft. No way he would go before Wiggins, Embiid, Parker, Exum, Randle, and Smart. I mean, really, if position was not a factor, you would take Giannis over any of these guys? I would say more realistically he would go somewhere in the top 10, and he would be picked strictly based on a high ceiling/potential. He is still extremely raw, and there really are no guarantee’s his offensive game will ever develop into an elite one.

For what it’s worth, Chad Ford says that he would have Giannis ranked 5th in this year’s draft, after Embiid, Wiggins, Parker, and Exum.

Personally, I would absolutely take him over Randle and Smart without any hesitation.

I am in the camp that thinks he may be untouchable and I am not basing this purely on his ability and potential.  What kind of talent can the Bucks keep in Milwaukee?  They are not going to land the top free agents, the are just not.  So what does the GM do?  He roles the dice on a small school types with upside (Nate Wolters) and do the same on European talent (GA).  My agrument is if they pan out, then you have a better chance of keeping them and attracting the other bigger named free agents for a chance to compete for a title.  It takes a unique type of person to want to stay and make it work in Milwaukee and any other small market for that matter.  I thought Bogut might work, but injuries helped facilitate that deal.

It is also too early to flip GA so another reason why he is untouchable, IMO.

If Orlando offered Oladipo and their 1st round pick for Giannis, and the Bucks turned that down…that GM would be fired…

Look, this kis is a nice prospect but lets not get ahead of ourselves. The only reason they wont trade him is because they wouldnt get equal value back for him. Nobody is trading a superstar for him, and just getting back a 1st round pick isnt worth it.

I completely agree, I may be in the minority on here, but I think people are way to overblown on Giannis. Sure, he is intriguing and has better than expected skills, but he is still a very raw prospect who may or may not ever develop into a good offensive player.

Just wanted to start the discussion/get some other opinions on his value.

Personally, I think he’s a borderline top-5 value in the 2014 draft, but NOT untouchable. Would it cost a ton to get him out of Milwaukee? Yeah, but it is do-able.
